Eda's mom was completely out of line at the start of the episode. Eda didn't need a mom obsessed with curing the incurable, she needed her mom to be there to support her in learning to live with it. Being concerned with 'curing' your kid's disability past the point of the kid themselves wanting you too isn't just bad parenting, it's can quickly become abusive.
