Julie pulled the cardboard flaps open. The neat rows of wine glasses, mason jars, and pint glasses jostled inside their cardboard lattice. It looked like another 20 minutes of manual labor. Julie’s arms suddenly were too tired to start another box. She looked up and scanned her new apartment. She exhaled long and slow.

“Maybe I can put up the living room canvas? It’d be a great way to end the day.” She thought, staring at The Badlands print sitting on her coffee table. The rest of the room was nearly put together. The furniture didn’t feel ‘right’ just yet, and a small box of knick-knacks still waited in the corner to be opened. For the most part, the room looked more put together than she had realized. Feeling increasingly content with her work today, she felt her drive to keep unpacking dissolve. Her eyes flicked to the wall clock.

“10:20?... I mean that is kinda late..” Julie thought, knowing full well she could keep going if she wanted to. Her body was tired though, and she was meeting her first student tomorrow. She wanted to be sharp for it.

“Yeah… I think it’s time.” She recognized, her brain switched from caring about an unpacked apartment to dreaming of laying down for a good read.

Wooden stairs creaked underneath Julie’s feet. She tried shaking out the endless thoughts that reviewed today and planned for tomorrow. “I didn’t get all the laundry done that I wanted. Gotta make sure I throw in a load when I get home tomorrow.” She thought, getting to the top and then walking into her bathroom. While spreading toothpaste she looked at herself in the mirror.

Her blonde strands brushed curvy over her chest. She considered her solid teal t-shirt. It said “EGGS” in fading black letters. It was from one of the dairy farms she worked on as a kid. She’d been in it nearly all day. Would it be comfy enough for bed? “Eh.” She thought, feeling the energy to change into PJs fading. The tight gray athletic shorts fell just past her butt. “I can just sleep in this.” She thought, spitting into the bowl.

The bedside light gently illuminated the page. She pressed the nose guard of her frame glasses. They were an old pair she never replaced ever since getting contacts. She blinked, getting lost in a sentence. She had to stop and reread it. After another few sentences, she did it again. Slowly repeating nearly every sentence. Until the page faded away.

“.....

… I…

Need…..

To buy. . .

. . .

Bread.”

She wouldn’t remember that thought consciously. Her tired body slept easily.

Searing pain. She felt it jabbing into her left arm. Directly where a nurse draws blood. Except it felt way more invasive and painful. Icey fire started racing through her arm and up her shoulder. It pulled her consciousness out of a deep sleep. Her sheepish eyes opened. At first, all she could see was gray blurry light. Then the adrenaline slammed her eyes wide open.

“AHH!!! WHAT!?!?” Julie screamed, her vision sharpening. A needle was pulled out of her. She tried jerking her arm away, but someone held on with a death grip. They were dressed in black kneeling at the bedside. In the dim light, she could make out bowl-cut hair. She tried pulling herself out of the bed but their grip was stronger.

“W-Who are you!?! W-what have you done!??!” She said absolute fear channeled into her muscles. She tried yanking away with all her strength. At the same time, she tried kicking herself out of the bed. Their grip almost released, but he was just able to overpower her. He pulled the sparing woman back into the bed.

“It’s okay. You’re okay.” They said in a soft male voice. His tone was calm. Julie gave earnest tugs, but they weren’t as strong as the last. Her muscles felt their strength diminishing. The icy fire had started melting into relaxing warmth. It reached her heart. It started pumping all across her bloodstream. Her spine relaxed into the bed.

“What are you doing to me??” Julie asked, still fearful. Her arm remained in place this time. The man’s grip remained stern.

“I didn’t do anything, silly. I think you might have had a nightmare.” He said Julie knew that was a lie. She could still feel some pain.

“Noo, I think you did something to me.” She said, her eyebrows furrowed. “Why did you put that into me?” Julie said, pointing at her arm.

“Are you scared?” He asked, softly placing his hand on the injection site. Julie didn’t feel his palm. He wore latex gloves. Julie didn’t feel like she needed to answer him. He was a stranger. She stared at him, her head subtly wobbling.

After saying nothing for a few seconds, Julie’s head sank, then up, nodding to answer his question.

“You know what might help? He said, tapping on her thumb with his free hand. “When’s the last time you sucked your thumb?” He asked, he sounded calm and in command. It came off smart. Like he knew things that maybe she didn’t. It still felt like a weird thing to ask. Her mind couldn’t recall immediately. It seemed like a long time ago, but she couldn’t spin up the exact moment. She threw up a shrug and then said,

“I dunno.”

“Hm.” He said some facial features started getting bright enough to make out. He had a long jawline covered in stubble. He wasn’t jacked, but he was tall and strong enough to overpower any struggles.

Julie haphazardly tried pulling away one last time. It wasn’t a question. He held on easily.

“I wanna go back to bed. You’re a stranger. I’m not supposed to talk to strangers.” Julie said seriously. Sure the man wasn’t doing horrible things, and he seemed friendly, but this wasn’t okay. This isn’t how you introduce yourself. It felt really hard to move. What muscle control she did have lagged.

“After having a nightmare? You don’t want someone to comfort you?” He asked, now slowly stroking her arm. Julie’s struggles started to subside. He was trying to be nice. The gripping fear receded like an ocean wave. She heard his words a mere second ago, but they were hard to remember. Her immediate thoughts fired at a slower rate. She had to respond somehow. Feeling silly for taking so long, she shrugged again and said,

“I dunno!” She smirked, exhaling fast through her nose. The man let go of his grip.

“You don’t remember the last time you sucked your thumb?? You must do it a lot then.” He said jokingly.

“Oohh yeah he’s right. That’s what we were talking about. My thumbsucking.” Julie remembered, orienting her thought process fully on that line of reasoning. When was the last time she sucked her thumb? It felt like a long time ago. “I don’t think I’ve done that… since I was a kid…? That feels right.” Julie pondered.

“Umm, I don’t think I’ve sucked my thumb since I was… umm…” She said, then tried thinking of an exact number, but it didn’t come immediately to mind. Her pupils looked up, but her eyes were in her head. She thought of a pink number 7. It was slightly difficult to hold the visual. She thought about numbers all the time. This felt weird. She tried thinking of something much higher, like the number 20.

That made her wince. The red lines faded quickly.

“Twenty?” Julie blurted out, just trying to sound smart. “Wait, no.” She realized, looking down for a moment, brushing her forehead. “I was younger than-” She said, stopping immediately to listen when he said,

“Oh, so you’ve sucked your thumb for a long time! Why are you pretending any differently?” He asked pointedly. Julie looked confused.

“I..” She said everything was moving too fast to remember all the words. She tried to gather herself, “I don’t suck my thumb all the time…?” Julie thought.

“Try it.” He said, “It’ll help you calm down from that nightmare.”

Julie felt the same fear from before flare. Was the nightmare the reason for all of this?? Instinctually the four fingers in her right hand curled, and the thumb stuck out. Her mouth opened less than a quarter of an inch. She brought the nail to her bottom lip. Staring at the man she said,

“I don’t suck my thumb all the time.” Trying to sound assertive, but coming off dumb. Her fingerprint scraped teeth. “Im nat a sthumb sthucker.” She said, the man laughed. It made her giggle too. Her thumb slotted into the roof of her mouth.

“Oh yeah? You’re not a thumbsucker? That’s why you’re doing it right now?” He said making fun of her. Julie squealed, giggling as she slapped him playfully. She started rocking back and forth. Her cheeks squeezed and inflated with each suck. Julie didn’t have a response. She just felt happy he was happy too.

“Do you want to have some fun?” He asked, standing up from the bedside. Julie’s thoughts lit up. With a little gasp, she shook her head.

“Wyeah! I mwanna have thsome fwun!” Julie exclaimed through her thumb. The last whisper of fear stopped talking to Julie. She felt the full weight of whatever was in her. It was 1:30 in the morning, but the circus in her brain wanted to play. Bolting excitement made static electricity in her legs. Instead of just swaying side to side her blonde hair started bouncing up and down. The man pulled something out from his jacket. It lit up, grabbing hold of every thought process.

Bright colorful lights shimmered in a toy turtle’s shell. Julie’s eyes fixed on them immediately. The entire world melted around her. “Vwooahhh…” She uttered, the muscles in her hands relaxed. She bit down to keep hold of her thumb. The lights were fun to think about. When they went out, Julie smacked the top of it. The motion triggered them to turn on again.

“He-ehe…. Heheh….” She giggled, shifting in the bed. Noises happened around her, but they didn’t sound fun enough to pull away her attention. She started animating the toy. Making it waddle side to side. “Fwwsshhh!” She said, mimicking the sound of the turtle gliding through the water. She could see the ocean floor on her bed. The warm water around her. She’d never experienced a trip like this.

Vague discomfort irritated Julie. She kept making the turtle swim, but the ocean water disappeared. She squirmed by swinging her hips from side to side.

“Mfm.” Julie whined, something inside of her clamped down. She recognized the feeling in her bladder. It subconsciously held back the accident. “I gotta pee pee.” She thought, looking down at her shorts. She poked at the center. “I can’t potty in these…” She recognized, understanding it’d make a mess in her bed too. White light ignited, grabbing her attention.

In front of her bed, two studio lights turned on. They brightly illuminated a yellow fleece blanket on the floor. The man picked up a black duffle bag, unzipped it, then dumped the contents out. Dozens of baby toys spilled out. Blocks, cute colorful plushies, even classics like a speak and spell.

“Toythss!!” Julie squealed, her brain wanted all of it. She instantly stopped caring about the Turtle. It didn’t exist in this universe anymore. Impulsive excitement made Julie stop paying attention to herself.

She tried rolling herself off the bed, managing to get her feet on the ground. She pushed into the bed, to hold herself up. She sucked down hard on her thumb as she waited for the world to stop spinning. Using the bedside table as support. She stood up.

“Nweh!” Julie whined, nearly tripping onto her feet. Her legs barely supported her weight. Something was wrong. Her pants felt different. They were warm, and clinging to her legs. She looked down.

“Oooo nwoo…” Julie said, cupping her crotch. It wasn’t much, but a noticeable round wet patch formed in her short shorts. She looked up pouting. Panic made her act instinctually.

“D-daddy!??” She called out desperately for help. She didn’t know what to do. It had been decades since having an accident. Her mind just acted on autopilot.

*Click* A camera flashed at Julie.

“What baby girl?” He said, walking away from the tripod. Her attempts to keep clamping down barely worked. If she lost concentration for even a moment another shot of pee would burst into her shorts. It felt super embarrassing to have an accident like this in front of an adult.

“Emmm Iwm hawving an acsthadent...” She said meekly, whining at the end. She couldn’t stop feeling embarrassed. It felt so wrong to pee herself. It wasn’t sanitary. How could she be doing something so absurdly gross in front of this man? She shrunk to standing on the balls of her feet. Only holding herself up by hanging onto the side table with one hand. The other one kept the pruning thumb in her mouth.

“Baby, this is what happens when you play dress up with Mommy’s clothes! You go pee-pee in them!” He said, then knelt and brought his left hand to her head; guiding it toward the floor. He scooped the other hand underneath her butt. He squeezed down hard, then lifted Julie into his arms. His index finger felt around the wet fabric. He rubbed gently into her. A dreamy pleasure dulled Julie’s panic.

Pee leaked out of her. It started with a burst, then slowed to a trickle. Gradually, the stream picked up in intensity. She dropped a warm mug of pee into her shorts before she subconsciously stop it. It was a completely unprotected accident. It pooled in the man’s hand. Spilling easily through his fingers and onto the floor.

“Oohh someone can’t stop going pee pee huh? How the heck did you get out of your diapers!? You silly-billy!” He said in a mocking baby-voice. He placed her down on the blanket. Julie felt uncontrollable giggles ripple through her lips. The lights were a little harsh at first, but she quickly adjusted once she focused on Daddy’s face. She watched him lean over and pull a white square out of a bag. A colorful strip ran around the top of it. Julie couldn’t tell what it was at first. Once he unfolded it, the shape of an adult diaper clicked.

“He gonna put me in a diaper?” Julie thought, “I don’ need….” She tried arguing, but it came out as a whisper. Because as she said it, Julie registered she just peed in this man’s hand. Her pants felt drenched. To her delight, he pulled her pants off.

“Look at you, you’re pottying all over the place! Did you honestly think you were ready for big girl underwear?” he asked, unfolding the diaper. Julie couldn’t think of a verbal response. He was right. Instead of feeling embarrassed, she crossed her arms over her eyes so he couldn’t see her.

She didn’t feel like an adult. She felt the mental state from the turtle take hold. “I got disstracteeddd.” Julie thought, realizing it was an honest accident. She felt compelled to take some power back. She couldn’t seem like a total idiot baby in front of him.

“Iwm… Iwm biggg. I-I thsorry four having acsthadent, D-” She said, stuttering at the end. She didn’t fully recognize his face.

“No, go ahead Baby. Say it.” He said, pulling the diaper underneath her butt. How could he be her Daddy? He didn’t look like her Father. He gave off the exact aura of him though. A different version of him. Where to Julie’s core she wanted him to control everything.

He brought puffy padding up between her bare legs. It was a foreign feeling. Cool baby powder made a perfumey cloud. Distant parts of her brain remembered this smell from her childhood. She saw daycare. It wasn’t a physical picture. It was feeling utterly feeble and stupid.

“D-daaddyyy…” She said, feeling herself giving up. She couldn’t move. And didn’t want to. This man changed her diapers, which meant he was Daddy. Her subconscious mind couldn’t hold it. She started pushing the last of her accident into the diaper before he even finished the tapes.

“Yes baby girl, I’m your Daddy.” He said, then patted the front of Julie’s diaper. “And you’re my baby! Look at how much pee pee you put in there!” He said, his hand pressed into the front.

“Enhh…” Julie muttered, her eyes fluttering. She felt her mind drift into a powerful wave of pleasure. He kept rubbing. It fragmented her mind. She couldn’t tell if the room was getting more colorful or if she was just floating in her thoughts. He leaned into her ear.

“You’re my baby. Say it.” He said, rubbing.

“Ddddaa…ddddaaadaaaa….” She uttered, her thumb still socked into her lips. She farted loudly. It came as a complete surprise.

“Say it.” He said again, his hand snaking into his pants.

“B-bbaby daaadaaaa” She gurgled, it was the only coherent words she could muster. Intelligent words were impossible to imagine let alone speak. She felt another funny feeling inside of her.

“Pee pee?” She thought for a moment. Although the feeling was in generally the same area of her body, it wasn’t pee. Her intestines felt the full brunt of the drug. Poop snaked to the end of her bowels. With Julie still laying on the floor, it was difficult for any of it to come out. The man stopped rubbing, turning instead to a toy on the ground.

“I know that face. Here, play with this, Baby. It will help you!” He said, holding it up. It’s the toy that pops colorful beads inside a clear plastic sphere as you push it around. Julie felt the man pull her arms up. She didn’t quite have the leg strength to stand on her own. She leaned her full body weight into his chest. She looked up at him and grinned a wet smile.

He pressed his lips into hers. Everything in Julie’s brain stopped. Her lips moved on instinct. She sloppy kissed him back. Her hands grabbed his arms. She felt love. A wet fart rumbled out of her. It sounded like some splattered into her diaper. He popped his lips free, then placed Julie’s hands on the handle of the toy.

“Run around with it! Trust me, you’ll feel so much better.” He said, pating the back of Julie's diaper. It was hot from her accident moments ago.

“Otay!” She exclaimed, feeling the brightest mix of emotion she’d felt in a long time. It felt like the open road in front of her. Moving in a diaper felt strange. It felt like a ball of warm mush in between her legs. She clumsily started pushing the toy. The granular sound of the beads jostling around triggered the same bouncy exhilaration in her head. It felt dangerously good. Julie didn’t want it to stop. Not just because it was fun, but because it felt so good in her diaper when she acted like this.

“Ghehe! Hehehe!” Julie blabbered, any subconscious attempts to remain as an adult stopped. Instead, they fed into it. Every second was the most fun she’d ever had in her entire life. Her diaper felt heavier. There was stuff growing in between her legs. She could feel it caking in between her legs. It didn’t matter at all. That’s why she had her diaper on in the first place. Heavy dinner mess plopped into her pants completely by accident.

“Gabah vrooom!!! Is he! Ehe!” Julie’s inner monologue gushed. There was a consequence to letting go this far. A sliver of babyish desire implanted into her brain. It was going to linger. Right now it just wanted to be as silly as possible. Julie whipped her face back and forth, launching drool across the room. Dizzy and uncoordinated, she fell onto the floor.

She didn’t feel like crying, because she felt Daddy immediately. He flipped Julie over onto her stomach. She wasn’t fully aware of what was happening, but she didn’t care at all. Daddy would take care of everything. She could see the ocean floating around the room again. She thought about her sea turtle light. Her eyes watched it swim around. The back of her diaper got pushed to the side. Nothing happened for a couple of seconds, then suddenly Julie filled inside. Bright cartoon lights strobed in her brain.

“Hgnneh…. Hghn… Hhg.” Intrusive baby thoughts worked like a spear shoving in and out of her brain. Each time she felt him pump, it felt like a piece of her consciousness scraped away. She couldn’t stop it in her head. It just felt too good. She bellyflopped into the temptation to just let her brain scramble.

“Dudn daddy… .Dudn me da daaaa” Julie babbled, she couldn’t stop it. She felt her mind set up for it. It rolled to a start. It was complete unrestricted euphoria. Words didn’t move through Julie’s brain. She just mindlessly moaned and snorted snot on her face until she blacked out.

The beam of sun was finally too much. Julie saw the bright inside of her eyelids. She opened them slowly, wincing from the light. “Mm…” She groaned, shifting through her blankets. Something was wrong. Her whole lower half felt wet. It yanked her brain out of the stupor.

“What the??” Julie thought, sitting upright quickly. The damp feeling between her thighs confirmed it before the blankets even flung off. The wet patch was a little smaller than she was expecting. It thankfully only reached her kneecaps.“What the hell? How did I wet the bed??” She thought, trying to retrace her steps.

“I stopped unpacking, brushed my teeth then… I just went to bed, right?” She thought, seeing a murky memory after that, but it wasn’t anything concrete. Almost like a hazy recollection of a dream. That’s it. She had no recollection of feeling the urge to pee. It didn’t make any sense to Julie. She hadn’t wet the bed ever in her adult life. It was hard to believe the dark wet circle was even real.

“It’s okay, I’ll just throw these in the washer. It’s only… crrapp!” Julie saw 10:00 AM on her phone screen. “How’d I sleep that much!?” She thought, springing out of bed. She shimmied the wet shorts off her thighs. Her hands worked automatically to pick out an outfit.

“I always wake up at 7, what happened to me? How did I oversleep this bad?” Julie wondered. It felt shamefully childish. She had to meet her first student in 15 minutes. Irresponsibility wasn’t something that usually crossed her mind. But running late from a wet bed certainly did.

She put together the quickest 'professionally casual’ outfit possible. A tight gray sweatshirt and jean shorts. She slipped a pair of yellow full-frame sunglasses onto the top of her head.

10 minutes to go she was nearly finished. Contacts in, and she was quickly brushing her teeth while throwing some breakfast fruit into her backpack. She weighed the pros and cons of driving to work. After finding a spot and walking into the building she’d probably be just a little too late. Biking was the way to go. She spit into the kitchen sink, washed the brush, and left it there.

Julie pulled her bike through the doorway. It was warmer than she expected. She pushed off the pavement and quickly started pedaling in the highest gear.

“Maybe I dreamed about peeing in one of my dreams?” Julie thought this bothered her. It was so unlike herself. Her sleep schedule ran the same even through the weekend. She saw that hazy memory in the middle of the night again. She focused all her attention on it.

“I felt… warm? It was bright... um…” She had a growing feeling this vague memory was the cause of her problem. But how could a dream make her oversleep for nearly three hours? When she wasn’t even that exhausted in the first place. “I can’t remember, maybe I dreamed of peeing in a toilet? That happens to people…?”

The train of thought dissolved as she rolled into campus. Her armpits were starting to get sweaty. In her haste, she forgot to put on deodorant. She weaved through the crowds to the library. The rack was nearly full, but she found a spot to lock into at the far edge.

“1 minute late.” She thought, walking into the open foyer. Walking immediately to the stairs, she made her way to the second floor. Through the hallway, she walked into the meeting room. It was just a wooden circle table with a few chairs around it.

“Hi, I’m so sorry. I overslept completely by accident.” Julie said, dropping her backpack into an empty seat. The girl sitting across the table didn’t seem to care.

“Yeah no problem.” She nodded. A little stack of paper lay in front of her. Julie took the seat right next to her.

“I’m Julie.” She said, extending a hand.

“Hi, Avery.” She said, softly shaking it. Avery wore a jean jacket and black pants. Curly brown hair reached past her shoulders. Julie picked up on her reserved demeanor.

“So you’re working on your thesis? What section are we looking at again?” Julie asked, her mind letting go of the morning and focusing on work.

“Um yeah, this is just my introduction. My advisor thought I should have someone like you review it.” She said, pushing the paper toward Julie. She grabbed it.

“Oh, awesome! What are you doing?” She asked, her mind beginning to read the words.

“I’m looking at how birds influence mass feeding sites. Like where birds and other animals all meet up to eat basically.” Julie heard Avery’s description but was too engrossed in reading.

She felt pee ride up against the edge of her bladder.

“...It’s okay I have my diaper on…” She thought lazily. Her legs spread further apart. She started peeing directly into her pants. Dark pee stains grew in her lap. It pooled in her seat.

“Um…” Avery said, trying to bring attention to it.

“Hm?” Julie said, looking away from the paper. She wasn’t expecting Avery’s scared expression. “What’s wrong??” She asked, Avery, pointed at the seat. Confused, Julie looked down. Julie gasped immediately.

“Okay, what THE FUCK!?” Julie screamed. She clamped down, but the damage was already done. She stood straight up, the chair fell over. Impulsively Julie tried covering it up with her hands, but that did nothing. It wasn’t just the front, her butt was completely soaked. “I am SO sorry, I do not know why this keeps happening to me. I…I will be right back.” Julie said frantically.

“Wait.” Avery said, her scared expression melting into an eerie curiosity. “This has happened to you before?” She asked, leaning in. Julie didn’t understand.

“Um, not really. It’s not something I do usually I… I wet um…” Julie wanted to say but felt embarrassment eat the words in her throat. Her face was getting hot. She could feel the tear ducts in her eyes tingle.

“Did you wet your bed last night?” She asked.

“What?” Julie said, looking confused. “Uh… yeah…. I did last night? How did you know that?” Julie asked baffled. Nothing in the past 12 hours made sense.

“Fuck.” Avery said, she slowly shook her head. Looking away for a moment she pondered. “We all need to meet. Today. We have to go to the cops.” She muttered.

“I’m sorry?” Julie asked, Avery looked back up at her.

“Something is happening. A couple of my friends have started complaining about the same thing. And..." She said, now her turn to look away bashfully.

"I've had problems too..." She said anger flushed out the embarrassment.

"Are you free this afternoon?” She said but quickly continued, “No. We need to meet right now. Can you do that?” She asked, Julie, didn’t say anything at first. She just motioned down at her wet pants.

“Oh, yeah. After um…” Avery said awkwardly.

“... I change….” Julie thought, unsure if it should be another pair of pants or something more protective.
