@9:53 the way Milena says she's invested in the criminal world even shows itself here when she quotes Avon with out realizing , The police are currently a little slow, a little late and that's all it takes to lose in The Game

Karabo

Such hypocrisy. Real strange...

the way jimmy looks at stringer as his destined rival, the moriarty to his sherlock, is always so funny. just the theatrics of him confronting stringer in a printing shop is so melodramatic and in character

If anyone is curious, the podcast Reply All put out a few good episodes about policing statistics Compstat and it's origins NYC, successes and failures. Episodes are called "The Crime Machine"

Orr Malus

Hot take: Stringer and Colvin are the actual heroes of the story. While the other characters are in a cat and mouse game that never goes anywhere, Stringer and Colvin's actions benefited both sides.

Kya Colosseum

Key difference between the two is Colvin is trying to change the system he's in to benefit the people, whilst Stringer is doing it only out of fear of death or jail.

Aj

Heroes? In what universe haha? Stringer's naivety and wickedness didn't benefit anyone.

Orr Malus

Stringer got everyone to sit at the same table and stop having wars over corners. Colvin is not acting out of pure altruism because (a) his superiors forced him to lower the crime stats or else, (b) he said he's very close to retirement so there are no real consequences for him anyway, and (c) his pastor friend pointed out that in the long run Hamsterdam is only a solution to Colvin's problems. I'm not saying that one character is more moral than the other. I'm pointing out, absent of justification, their actions benefited the most people.

I agree that if there was a hero in this show, Its Bunny Colvin and another officer I won't name for spoilers sake. He's trying to find a solution that actually helps people. Stringer is a POS. He's out for himself.

maybe not heroes in a sense of virtue (def not string), but they do have sort of heroic ambition. two of the few characters trying to take on the whole system and change the game to solve their problem instead of playing by the rules
