Butchie is not Omar’s uncle

Anonymous

You did not discuss the most important part of this season. If the union does not exist anymore, does the church window stay there or will it be replaced by the police window.

I think they got mixed up when Butchie said he wanted his nephew to oversee Omar's talk with Stringer. Butchie acts as Omar's bank and gives him sage advice. But not his uncle.

Although I disagree with most of you guys takes when it comes to Avon, the one thing you guys hit the nail on the head is that Stringer is Business smart, BUT Avon is Street smart. It’s why they work so well together because they balance each other out but now that significant difference in their personalities is starting to become an issue. How Stringer handled the Brother Mouzone situation perfectly illustrates that he is just NOT FIT to be at the head of the table, at least in my opinion. It’s why I believe Avon hesitated the fist bump, he was pondering if leaving Stringer in complete control was a good idea after hearing about Brother. Also something to think about: This is the second time we have heard about Avons father, first D mentioned him in season 1 when talking to McNulty and Bunk, he asked if they knew him and Bunk answered yes, and he basically said something along the lines of he was ruthless. And now in this episode Butchie mentioned him to Omar and said he was plain evil. Now knowing that, you can kind of speculate what Avons childhood might of been like, it’s those subtle but great details that explains Avon as a character and why he is the way he is and how at the end of the day, The Street is all he knows, but what I always found so fascinating about Avon is that he still had the determination to keep his family with him. I’m sure everything in his core was telling him to cut D loose and kill him just cuz of how that’s what you’re supposed to do to someone that you can’t trust won’t flip on you, but he still refused to hurt D. It’s what makes what Stringer did so horrible. I hope in S3 you ladies can get a better understanding of Avon, not necessarily to like him but I have seen other reactors completely miss the mark in analyzing his character and it always frustrates me because Avon, to me is probably THE most fascinating character in The Wire. The amount of layers to the character is unmatched. I don’t think any other character has as much depth as him. Can’t wait to see your reactions to S3, it should be great to say the least!!!!
