space1999

Omfg we finally meet Melody! Best girl 🥹 I forgot about this Killua outfit, I love that he can dress how he wants and not be burdened to wear the crazy fits his family does Like idk who told his grandpa he looked nice wearing this last arc https://i.imgur.com/eiDH4Kz.png

Camera looks really good!

Oh man, I wish we have a whole week or just HunterXHunter… fuck it a whole month! This show is just that good (c" ತ,_ತ)

Lola is right about the limitations of the Haikuu power. In that situation where it's not a direct fight it's incredibly useful, as Basho can take all the time he likes to write his Haikuu. If he was fighting Hisoka for instance, chances are he'd have a pack of playing cards sticking out of his head by the time he gets out his paint brush. One other limitation we see is that to take effect it seems dependant on the other person's actions, and by making it avoidable it increases the power of the attack. Plus while burning is definitely lethal for many, for those with a strong enough Ten it's very possible they'd barely be hurt by it. Finally as we heard from Kurapika's nen master in the previous episode, conjurer's abilities cannot be omnipotent. For instance he can't write "everyone in the world who doesn't worship me will burn", so I'm guesing his power is likely limited in scope to those that hear his Haikuu.

Hunterpedia lasts until episode 58. Then there is smth similar that is called "*name next arc* Tutorial" which lasts until episode 75.

JATLA

I’m gonna say it here so I can just talk about the finale of Vinland on that video, Cyberpunk Edgerunners better be the 4th option in the new show poll😂🙏🙏

HgPt

omg you are soo smart. You'll understand why in few weeks

JATLA

Definitely, feels like a show that was made for them

space1999

It’s really fun to see them piece together plot point and character motivations with little to no information

Shivering King Banana

Imagine if instead of writing a poem or tongue punching someone all you had to do was 🙏

Nen skill is unique and built through life/experience, so I think the kissing woman always used her beauty/her kiss to get what she wants, manipulate people, so her nen became this

A

I never thought about that. But it's important to note that it's a choice. Ultimately, she chose that power, it didn't become that spontaneously. Even though you're maybe right about how she used her beauty and kisses throughout her life. Her knowing that (and thinking such an affinity would make her power much stronger) may have been a factor in her choosing that power. Or if she didn't know that, maybe she subconsciously leaned toward that power because of her life experiences.

ODIS

Also, the quality of the haiku will determine how good its effects are. So, if Basho is stressed or in a hurry, then his haiku will probably be weak/bad.

To touch on your discussion near the end. I believe the author is portraying Kurapika here "cold" after spending six months with his own thoughts, reverting back to his "dark" avenger path. Now he's raised walls around himself and acts detached even from well-meaning people, and without a smile in sight. Earlier he had friends in Gon and Leorio who brought out the best in him, who managed to mend his strong rage, distract him from it and allow his compassion to shine through instead. Kurapika needs such people around him. Just wanna say you guys love Kurapika for the exact right reasons.

Anonymous

No need for this level of detail—just say that it doesn’t last the whole show and leave it at that.

Theria

Commenter above is 100% correct that the time Kurapika spent isolated from his friends reignited the fire he had inside him. If you would like there is a filler episode from the old version that portrays those six months and it frames Kurapika's sorrow in a really melancholic and artistic way. It also has an alternate first meeting between Melody and Kurapika which is quite moving. It's one of my favourite Kurapika episodes and I would love it if you could react to it after episode 44 of this version (for spoiler reasons). Might need a community consensus on that, but if not you should definitely watch it yourselves. Here's the best link I could find btw: https://www.facebook.com/maximus.red.gwapo/videos/512198392957754

Nen is really subjective. If it makes sense to the user, almost anything can be accomplished. What you saw in this episode is a good example of what not to do because it's actually a really dumb idea to tell random people your Nen type or explain your abilities. You already saw an example in this episode where someone guessed the wrong type of Nen for another person, and if they had fought, Kurapika could have had a significant advantage simply because the other guy thought Kurapika was a manipulator. It's really important to understand what type of Nen you're up against, because some situations it doesn't matter how capable you are... your opponent could simply be the perfect counter to how you use your Nen and then you're fucked. That guy who writes poems could be incredibly dangerous except he's a huge self-critic and his power is only as strong as his opinions of his own poems. If he thinks he wrote a shit poem, its power will be far weaker. That's not a universal application of Nen, but it is a good example of how someone from the outside could see his power and think its broken when in reality it's a little more nuanced. There are reasons why a power like his works that you'll learn pretty soon, and once you finish this arc, you'll have a deeper appreciation of all the characters introduced in this chapter and how they use their Nen.

Nathan Elkin

nen abilities are usually built around familiarity with something or an incredible desire for something. she could have been super flirtatious before she developed Nen, leading her to lean into that and build her ability around kissing people, or she could have simply desired a sense of control or ownership over others in response to living a life without any of that, resulting in her choosing something she learned to believe meant power, or in other words, melting a man's brain with sex appeal. I honestly don't remember her character, but it's a simple ability that can accomplish a lot.

Nathan Elkin

I'm pretty sure his ability is subjective so its based on whether or not he thinks he wrote a good poem.

Shivering King Banana

Even if it is subjective Basho is a man of high standards and he knows a good Haiku from a bad one. The true problem with Basho's hatsu is that Togashi isn't very good at Haiku's.

Man, it really is a shame that Yorknew arc is, in my opinion, the best one in this show because of Kurapika's involvement. GI, CA felt like such a slog to go through that I honestly didn't finish CA. I really got tired of the whole "info dumping for 3-4 episodes" just to have a 2-3 minute confrontation followed by another recap of infodumping mechanics of why that person won/lost.

Edgar

I thought CA is the best one and its one of the best shounen arcs in general

Jay rellim

[DO NOT READ AHEAD for ppl who arent caught up] CA was when togashi peaked imo. it did start a bit slow, but it's literally the one arc that made hxh become one of my top mangas. btw i read it as it was coming out which was even worse lmao he'd go on 1-2 year hiatus in the middle of it, chapters would randomly be drawn super poorly, etc. and even w that terrible experience the story itself was still so good i was hooked on hiatus x hiatus

HgPt

people say this arc is the best, this other arc is the best. To me every arc is amazing, if I'm forced to say which one is my favourite I would answer the last one. I really like every episode of HxH tho

lumine

I think Togashi's style is more fit for the manga, the narration doesn't feel as jarring there (I mean there still is people who complain that the walls of text are too much, but since it's in paper format I liked it).

Vivasvan Gautam

Spoiler : Yes, I agree. Reading CA, I think it would be a decent experience. I've seen people commenting that watching CA arc is a slog fest. And i can understand that Pov. Narrative structure of CA is more like to that of novel than manga.

Anonymous

Weird that people are so brazenly discussing the details of future arcs. Don’t they read these comments?

JATLA

Just saw the comment above this and was thinking the same thing, wtf😅

Tom

I'm with you on CA, I have so many problems with it. It was driving me mad towards the end. I feel like a lot of it is completely redundant, and some episodes bored me to death. But it does have some of the greatest moments in any show, ever. Some of the best character development especially.

Ulfway

Talking about future arcs is still a hint for the girls to expect what's to come, the important thing is whether the girls are bothered by these type of comments or not?

Anonymous

CA was absolutely incredible, I don't understand how people can hate on it. Also I wouldn't judge it until finishing it, the best parts are near the end. But hey to each their own.

Vivasvan Gautam

Naah. People can judge a work without finishing it. If one finds themselves getting bored midway through a piece of work, they're reading or watching wrong work for them. Life is too short to spend time on works that bore us. I drop books shows at a heart beat if they stop engaging me. Life is too short to spend time on things that bore us People can't give up on show or judge it cuz they haven't finished it is an idea that i can never accept and advise that I'll never give to someone. It's potentially waste of time for person that gets bored. Engage in something that you feel enthusiastic about. That makes you feel excited.

MaxVSTheGames

[SPOILERS AHEAD] CA is just too damn long in my opinion. It was really good, but there's no reason for it being that long. Phantom Troupe arc is superior in my opinion. Also, it has Kurapika in it, so that's always a win.

Toidleboy

sure you can judge a work without finishing it.... but your comments wont be taken seriously because you havent seen it in full. you arent judging it with all the information which invalidates your statements. nobody watches half of the Sixth Sense then tells everyone its boring and they didnt understand it when they didnt even get to the twist that explains prior events and comes full circle to understand everything in the first place lmao. you dont judge a mechanic whos building a car and is halfway done saying its ugly but little do you know its a Bugatti when its finished... get the point?

Vivasvan Gautam

Judging a work to be boring for oneself is different from judging a work publicly and providing criticism for it. The comment i made is in context of finding a work boring. We have judged it for ourselves and move past it. If someone says that its amazing, we simply say we did not find it engaging. It does not refer to providing critical commentary and analysis to everyone upon half or incomplete information. The operative word here, in this whole discussion, is centered around word "boring" .

Billy Overlord

As long as people mark their comments and say that it contains spoilers it should be all good. Otherwise I assume they'd say something

Anonymous

You know they literally have no idea what you’re talking about right?
