Rotoscoping animation at that distance is seen as a cop-out, done for budgetary reasons. It's very cheap when you only have two characters but becomes expensive when dealing with an entire cast of characters of different heights and body-types. I think it looks great personally. Would love to see an entire anime done with rotoscoping. And no, Chainsaw Man's hand scenes don't count. If anyone is interested to seeing more, I recommend Fire & Ice, the quintessential rotoscoped animated movie.

Bear with the show for 4 weeks girls. As much as i love your reactions, i enjoy your thoughts, your analysis, your takes, your opinions on show more. Waiting for 4 weeks for your vinland releases, i am gonna pull my hairs out of my scalp lol. Withdrawal won't be bearable.

If I were to say every part of this episode made me cry I'd be describing most of the episode, but one part that really hit me that doesn't get mentioned enough is when Thorfinn started doing chest compressions and said his dad taught him this. Instantly brought the image to mind of Thorfinn walking into his house and seeing his dad trying to save the slave in the very first episode. And yeah man you can't expect me to think about adorable little 6 year old Thorfinn and the impact Thors had on him years down the line, well after his death, without sobbing.

Also a line I really love from this episode is "the world exists for people stronger than you". Really sums a lot up for me. That Ketil scene kind of connects with the Fox scene at the beginning too. Both men who wielded power over others being outmatched in their domains, Fox by the Jomsvikings' strength and Ketil by Canute's authority. In this situation, we see they're basically just like the retainers, lashing out at those below them while/because they're pretty much powerless in the grand scheme of things (we saw this most explicitly and directly with Ketil beating Arnheid as a direct result of being made to feel powerless). But if the world exists for people stronger than you then really everyone suffers, because someone stronger will always come along.

Love everything that happens the next few episodes… what an amazing adaptation Can’t wait Just wish we’d gotten a bit more from Arnheid personality wise or had more interactions with her and the other characters that weren’t drenched in drama

well, I haven't set foot in an h&m in years, in fact idek if there's one here, but i'll check. i found one i like and one i liked the front but when it arrived i hate the way the collar fitted so i just use it as a pyjamas. but thanks ☺️

At least Thorgil actually lives the life he talks. He's not a poser like his father and brother. And those farmers were more than happy to kill for money so yeah I'd say it's pretty even that they died for Canute to make money.
