To repeat the brightness comment in the other post: I think the issue is gamma or contrast. Of course the brightness on your screen should be up all the way, but if you can adjust the gamma/contrast it will make the blacks not as black which should help too. If that doesn't help then the issue is how bright it is in your room, but putting blinds down or whatever to darken the room, while making it easier for you to see, could make it harder to see the footage (which would require brightening in post). So whatever you choose is up to you, but I highly recommend going back to some darker scenes where you couldn't see anything and changing the gamma/contrast on your monitor/screen until you can see what is going on, showing an improvement over before. Then watch regular daytime scenes and make sure those aren't too intrusive. But you guys seem to not mind visuals too much (like sometimes I find myself getting annoyed by subtitles spelling out every individual sound effect but it impressively never breaks immersion for you two, so it should be fine, just don't make it too overexposed but enough increase so the dark scenes are actually visible)

I'm not sure how it's unrealistic though? It's literally said earlier in the season that there would be less security on Christmas Day.
