Superb post season 4 discussion! You two nailed it again, you can sympathize the loss of Walter White, and watch/enjoy/indulge in the gasoline fire that is Heisenberg! ALL HAIL THE KING

Definitely watch the poem right before episode 16. That’s when it aired for us on AMC. The week after 15 going into the 16th episode

Hey man, the teaser that they're referring to "Ozymandias - As Read by Bryan Cranston: Breaking Bad" was released on July 29, 2013; 13 days before the original air date of episode 509. It was the teaser for season 5B.

Danny

There was only Heisenberg in this episode. Jekyll is no more, there is only Hyde

Shadoe Price

The man who Walter met at the beginning of the episode is the guy who sold him the gun in season 4.

Avery

Vince Gilligan wrote for The X-Files and you should check out the episode (Drive) he wrote with an appearance by Bryan Cranston. Not a bad audition for Walter White.

I just love how Cranston slowly and deliberately transforms from Walter to Heisenberg between seasons 1-5. How many actors could pull that off?

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how smart Jesse was, I mean he called Walter poisoning Brock EXACTLY how it went down, with Saul using Huel and everything, the only thing he missed was that Walt used Lily of the Valley to actually do the deed. If Jesse had listened to his gut feeling, the whole show would have ended with season 4 lol. But honestly Gus had been the ONE hurdle Walter could never overcome, and now that he finally killed Gus, you ladies called it right, he thinks he is Invincible and he now wants to be Gus, but there is only ONE Gus Fring and Walter could never run this business the way that man did, also just the fact that at the end of the say Gus was wayyyy more honorable, than Walter ever was just goes to show how much of a great character he was, he will be missed, But man you ladies will love this season, truly a rollercoaster ride from start to finish.

Ozymandias is a poem and also the name on one of the last episodes of this season. The episode has also been labeled as one of the greatest episode in television of all time. The ranking of this episode on IMDb is 10.0, which is not something you see a lot. It is also my favorite episode of all time. Even the very last episode of Breaking Bad is not ranked as high as Ozymandias.

Dan

Not to mention he did Malcom in the Middle before this as the bumbling comic relief dad

Dan

IMO, you should watch the poem video after episode 14, and after some initial discussion/first impressions. I think the poem will be more meaningful when you see things played out rather than having the poem spoil things by alluding to what might happen. Who wants to be spoiled in text, anyway? Watch the episode first and then hear the words. That's how I'd do it. Basically how you did with the Dean Norris video after "One Minute" :)

Luis

Umm it’s also a very famous English poem based on a real historical figure so not sure how spoilery that would be...

LM, if you decide to see Bryan Cranston reading the poem before you watch Ozymandias, so ask someone else to search and download the video for you. The poem have the same name of the episode, so is possible that you will see some spoilers while searching the video.
