Yep, the main thing the Lion Turtle said was that your own spirit must be unbendable. The triads are called triads (three) because they combine benders from three elements in their mobs (Earth, Fire and Water). If you live in Republic City, you live in fear of benders no matter what element they use (except air, but the only air benders are Tenzin's family). Even without the mobs though, there would still be resentment that some people randomly get to have superpowers and some don't.

Hey, I never thought of it that way. I just assumed they were called triads because that's what the Chinese mob is called, and the show just uses that terminology (like the show uses White Lotus). Cool.

Everyone was asking the same question...how can Amon do this? They do a really good job with this storyline in my opinion. You're going to love it. Also, I like the little Harry Potter joke at the beginning with Bolin asking Korra if she has an Avatar bank vault full of money. :)
