Hey everybody! So I have a lot of ROTHT stuff to tell you about/show off.

First off, I just want to give a brief recap of Ruins Of The Human Temple because some of my newer patrons might not have heard of it. Ruins Of The Human Temple is a game about post-human cybernetic organisms exploring a crumbling holy site left behind by a long forgotten civilization.

You play a drone who is the one actually exploring the site and are in communication with your supervisor who talks you through your mission and grants you access to the variety of tools you need to delve deeper into the temple. However, the temple might not be all that abandoned! And what is really human starts becoming an unstable category.

Now to get more into the features I have been working on, I’ve built out the scripts needed for navigating around the game world. You will basically be on a track in a 3D space, when different options pop up to move onto another track, a button will appear on the right side of the GUI Frame which will indicate what type of movement you will be making (in the case of these gifs, you are going around a corner to the different walls of the outer temple) there will also be a corresponding letter in the scene at the location you will be changing onto the other track, if you chose to do so. This is based on older PC adventure games, but also Killer7, which was a 3D game with limited movement. In Killer7 these points where you can select different paths are called junctions, and I used the name as well.

Part of Ruins Of The Human Temple is going through the temple site and analyzing the different carvings and statues left behind by the cult that constructed the structure. Some of these markings you will have to uncover, some of them will be merely fragments of markings that you must use context clues and the knowledge gained from your other scanned in markings and also your understanding of the glyph alphabet used by the cult. So, there is an element of collecting and an element of puzzle solving and reconstructing the myths and beliefs that line the temple walls.

The basic mechanics of scanning I have implemented but I will need to do a little more work on display the information gained from each carving/statue/relief/glyph.

Lastly, as I have mentioned before there is more to the temple than meets the eye, and you may end up experiencing a very different perspective on the events in the game. I will not spoil too much though.

Next update will be about Discover Our Bodies but I hope to show off a little more of the second level/area of Ruins Of The Human Temple if I can too. Growing My Grandpa! is still coming to Steam by the way! I just pushed the release date back because of the Steam Summer sale. It should be available on the 12th, so I will be making a post about accessing your steam keys from your itch.io keys around that time.

By the way, I am on TikTok now! I am mostly just going to be promoting things you already know about, but I might do some slice-of-life game dev stuff as well, please follow me if you’re interested :) my @ is stretchamstrung, same as my twitter.

As always if you have any comments or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me through Patreon messages or Discord! I try to be available as possible for my patrons. For those of you who have a long weekend, I hope you get time to relax/decompress/be with family. Thanks so much for your continued support, it means a lot to me! I’m so constantly amazed people like my stuff and are generally so nice about it! It rocks!

Yours In Games,

Yames

Ruins Of The Human Temple sounds amazing, can't wait to explore ruins and (probably) doom myself.
