It's the simple way I use to give my lines some color:

Step 1. Finish your art.

Step 2. Duplicate your line drawing layer.

Step 3. Change the combine mode of the upper layer to "overlay".

Step 4. Change the opacity of the lower layer to 40~60%.

( It's not the proper way but I like the effect and it's easy to use )
