Hi all!

Some people asked me about my Twitter account.

Probably unrelated, but to avoid speculations, here's the story of the Thanos figure first for context:

A year ago I made the Thanos Jack-O challenge images for fun and games. Somehow Lil Nas X shared it and it got some attention for a while, then I thought that was it.

Today, some Asian studio modeled a replica of that image and is selling statues going up to $600.

Now, while I would have liked some credit for the inspiration, I find the whole thing quite absurd and funny. I do fan art, which I recognize it's already questionable itself. I do think, however, that cloning someone's image and cutting the background out of it to put in your $600 statues promos without any credit is something else, but again, I'm not mad. My DAZ Studio products are all at pirate sites, which is a bigger issue for me, so this is not new.

I commented about me being the original artist at posts promoting the statue. The next day my account was suspended. According to Twitter, my banner and profile icon violated their rules. It's weird because the banner was a cropped Chris Redfield image and the icon was Thanos's face. I have both since like a year ago or more.

While some see the Jack-O Thanos image for what it is, you'd be surprised many get triggered by it. I assume some haters went to my profile because of the attention the statue was getting and decided to report randomly just to troll and getting multiple reports makes it easier for an account to be suspended.

Personally, I don't think the Asian studio had something to do, but I share with you the statue story and Twitter's reasons to avoid speculations.

This is all I know. I assume the account is gone forever. But given the nature of the things I post, it's a risk I am always aware of. So, that's the story of the Thanos statue and the Twitter account.

If anything, I am satisfied knowing that one of my images made it possible for a giant naked Thanos statue to exist in this straight world dominated by equally naked anime girls. And if my Twitter account was the price, so be it LOL

Thanks! :D

Congratz on recovering your account 👍✨

What's your Twitter account again?

I find that studio's behavior unacceptable. This could've been a mutually beneficial coordination between you two, and possibly future projects as well, and they decide to do this. If they didn't know, then that's another story, but my gut feeling tells me that they knew all along that they were pirating. As result, you lost one of the best place to advertise your work while that thief remain untouched. Let me know if you need anything advertised, I can post it on my page.

Well that sucks, because one guy also found out its ideas were being used by disney without mentioning original creator, to the simplest of details remain And a big bummer because in the translation, muscle definition, mass and that ass size was lost Its just bad all around Edit: and he has a small dick

But found one comment on twitter "Marvel What IF.....? What if it was a booty clap and not a finger snap?" Man, you created a completely different universe

Timothy Chandler

Great attitude but that still sucks (and not a good kind of sucking)

Hi Soto! Im sad your Twitter was suspended. I agree with you that the studio did not have anything to do with you being banned. The Chinese studio makes ILLEGAL figures of characters they do not have rights to. So they do not have legitimate accounts. If you noticed all the tweets came from accounts reporting about the studio. The actual studio does not have a twitter, and insta or a facebook, Because they know they work in illegal statue creations. I want to say to the people who think they could have cooperated with the artist. These Chinese studios are making Illegal figures. If they brought you in it, I think you could have been in a lot of trouble with Marvel as you would have been involved in making illegal figures. As far as the suspension, i did notice that you were replying to several people with the same picture and explanation and I was wondering if Twitter flagged your account and thought that you were spamming. I do think this whole situation is weird. But these studios are known for stealing peoples art and making statues. I believe they even steal from each other. There was an issue with 2 studios making the same exact statues and blaming each other of theft. I just want to let you know was shocked but kinda happy that they thought your art was so amazing that they illegally made a statue of it 😅

According to my Twitter, I replied to 5 threads about it, not sure that's enough to be targeted as spam by Twitter, but no, their mail said it's because of the banner and profile icon.

That's probably because they have to invent some reason. I've to admit that I haven't checked your twitter (I don't have account either) but twitter has pretty vague rules on what constitutes as sexual imagery. They list: Full or partial nudity, including close-ups of genitals, buttocks, or breasts (excluding content related to breastfeeding); simulated sexual acts; and sexual intercourse or other sexual acts – this also applies to cartoons, hentai, or anime involving humans or depictions of animals with human-like features. It's just that they also mention "any consensually produced and distributed media that is pornographic or intended to cause sexual arousal". Not limited to above mentioned samples. Those are not allowed in banners and profile images and the "not limited to" clause allows them to ban pretty much anything they want. Fan art is allowed or they would have to ban half of the twitter. Copyright issues are a separate thing.

The banner was my Chris Redfield image cropped so nothing was seen. I admit it's easy to imagine what's going on beyond the crop, but nothing was really shown, so I feel it's a bit arbitrary and extreme, but again, I shouldn't have tempted my luck and I assume various persons reported the account through it, or maybe just one person and I was unlucky. I don't know. I don't think that much about it because I'll never know and it won't solve anything. If it's gone, it's gone.

said your account was lost because of this, but glad you're taking this in stride
