Dany is a main character so of course people think the witch was totally wrong for what she did. Daenerys thought she was a good person making those women servants and even suggesting they marry the men who destroyed their home and raped them.

Daenerys is my favorite character in ASOIAF. But I always think people should consider that Mirri Maz Duur believed she was doing a good deed by preventing Daenerys’ child from becoming the Stallion who Mounts the World, the Khal of Khals who would unite all the Dothraki people together. Regardless of what Daenerys thought she had done for this woman, Mirri had seen her village and all of its inhabitants either violently killed, brutalized, or about to be sold into slavery. Even with Daenerys “saving her” life Dothraki we’re still slapping her around and abusing her. I didn’t see Angel react to that weird description that Mirri gave the baby. Having seen HotD, I wondered if he was aware that Targaryen infants occasionally have dragon, or reptilian like features. They gave Rhaenyra’s stillborn daughter in the final of HotD scales on her back and head. But then they never mentioned anything about it in the show. I’m curious if it will get brought up at all in the second season. I would recommend that Angel either read or listen to the final chapter in A Game of Thrones. The description of the funeral Pyre and the birth of the dragons is some of my very favorite writing from Martin. Daenerys told Mirri she didn’t want her screams, only her life because she had learned a valuable lesson from Mirri, who said that only death can pay for life. Mirri’s life was part of the magic that helped to birth the dragons. Lots of people think that three lives were needed to birth the three dragons. So people speculate on which three lives were the sacrifice. Was it Mirri, Drogo, the horse, the infant, or even the Dothraki warriors that Jorah killed?
