Hey hey Patrons!

Now that we've rocked the OVAs that bring a broader context, and as painful as No Regrets may ultimately be it does help satiate a touch of the Levi withdrawal that you experience throughout S2.

We get some more world-building and back story and some HORRIFYING POSSIBILITIES ARE ILLUMINATED TO IN THIS EPISODE with the two RURAL KIDS, Connie and Sasha!

Our subtitles take a very weirdly folksy turn to illuminate just that fact about the country crew that's a little jarring but totally fine!

"When you turn your back on people you forfeit your right to come to them for help!" is one of the most based comments in this show's history!

Also, this episode has TWO OF THE MOST HORRIFYING SEQUENCES IN THIS SHOW'S HISTORY and we ARE FUCKIN' GROWING BABY TITANS OUT OF PEOPLE IN THIS BITCH!

LORD IN F*CKIN' HEAVEN THIS IS UNSETTLING!

We got BVE DROPPING TODAY! A new MMM as well! Keep your eyes peeled!

fUn FaCt, apparently some parts of Japan have a folksy accent that's pretty similar in connotation to our US southern one 😮 as odd as it is to see pop up in anime from time to time, it's surprisingly one of the things that actually DOES translate well enough to english lolol. That sorta language thing is interesting to me 😅 Glad you guys are sinkin' your teeth (heh) into this show and enjoying it as much as you are 😄

I thought the kid was sus too when I first watched it, they just animated her in a way to show that she's paralysed with fear with the dead hollow expressionless eyes. The moment where Sasha tells her to run, light comes back to her eyes. The way they flex is nuts.

underrated character focused episode. The animals in the OP (the whales and the dinosaur) melted my brain back in the day

"woke redneck" is such a hilarious and pretty much accurate description of sasha's dad 😭😭

Michelle

i wanna share an interesting fact this episode and no i dont consider a spoiler, cause it never came to happen, but basically sasha was supposed to die right here. but the editors that work with hajime isayama (the manga author of attack on titan) convinced him to not do that, apparently they liked sasha too much and told him this would be a really sad way for her to go lol

Michelle

also just to avoid confusion, the reason why that titan wouldnt die with the axe is not cause its stronger that normal titans, its just that the axe is too weak. the thing they regularly use to kill titans is really refined steel blades that are very, very sharp, and which usually are powered by gas and momentum with every strike. a normal human swinging a normal metal weapon agaisnt their necks is not gonna do anythin.

Oppai Master

Levis ankle broke during female titan fight in the forest and I think this episode is only the next day that's why he isn't fighting. Maybe you already know since you watched the season already

amberrr

i think because when sasha hit the neck of the titan, it just kept regenerating. that's why the scouts use two swords to completely get the chunk of the neck. just one slice will regenerate.

Michelle

it was regenerating faster that she could hit it basically. the military uses some sort of really good steel and tends to use gas to power the swing. its the same reason why the guns they have dont work on them, it could penetrate the neck but not go far enough or cover enough of the neck area to really get it.

Interesting how they kept focusing on both the titan's eyes and Connie's eyes .

A timely episode for one reason or another.
