(spoiler alert)

Hey everyone!

So, in my last post I told you about Hank and Rosa, and that they would retreat to the Guestroom to do 'their thing' again. And I left it up to you, to guess what that 'thing' might be.

Well...

They are into rope-play

Now, when I was still doing live model drawing -I've also drawn various models who actually hung from the ceiling like this. And I saw how these ropes were applied. I thought it was quite amazing- and so I wanted to bring this back into Space Rescue as well. And so that sparked the idea for this story :)

Below you can see a few pencil sketches I made during such a live-drawing session.

And based on some of these sketches, I made the drawing of Rosa hanging from the ceiling. The sketch was pretty easy to make, thanks to the reference-  but finding the right colors took a bit longer however. At first I wanted to make the whole scene much darker with deep shadows, but somehow that never seems to fit to Space Rescue. So I kept it light and colorful again!

Mouse cursor icons

Meanwhile I've also been working on a dozen mini-games or so. And those games all need a custom HUD & mouse cursors.

So I started by sketching a few ideas for those mouse cursors. Some of them I can re-use for several games, like the hands. But others are just for a single mini-game, like the hedgecutter icon.

I also need at least two versions of each mouse icon; the 'mouse over' icon, and the 'mouse clicked' icon- and sometimes even a third; the 'mouse drag' icon, for when you're holding down the mouse button.  And those can be seen close to each other in the sketch below.

Well, I'm still in the middle of it- and after posting this, I'll probably dive back into photoshop to finish these. I hope you'll like them ;)

Till next time & all the best!

-Robin

Shadow_dreamer

Rope bondage seem really hard to draw, you did amazing

CodePink

Thank you Shadow-dreamer! For me, the difficult part is how the shape of the body changes when you put a rope around it, and when you hang the body from those ropes. But it's a fun 'puzzle'to work on, and having studied it a bit helps a lot :)

Ian Noble

Just a question I would really enjoy seeing a video of how you draw and the process you go through. Have you thought about doing before, is it possible? Keep up the good work it looks awesome.

Hey Ian Noble! Thank you so much! And I'd love to show you how I work - I actually did some video's in the past (other projects), but kinda gave up on it because it was alot of work to set it all up. But...maybe I'll give it another try soon! :)
