Looks like we have a winner!

----

The first of a set of images to really end the Pest control/Rescue party stories. I'll probably alternate between updating this one, giants slugs and maybe a new upcoming story. A bit of variation is good.

As always, the image can be found in the archive in the pinned post.

Matt (not that one)

Just so it doesn't get overlooked, I'm looking forward to whatever the "new story" turns out to be! Thanks for dropping that hint.

Habanero

Is this the last page (for this story path)? Doesn't really have a sense of finality to it imo

Anonymous

I almost certainly don't think so; we still need to see the other two girls deliver their broods, and then perhaps one more group shot as a 'family photo' before we end this beautiful series.

Anonymous

Continue gastropood :D

I enjoy the extra detail already, looking forward to seeing the progression :) Keep up the good work and new details if you enjoy going that direction :) Looking good!

JJ

I really hope you do more stuff with spiders, it's very well done

zeroGravitas

Thanks! There will be more spider stuff, but once rescue party is over, I will probably focus on some non-spidery creatures first

This is just a small request, but I would really love to see the spiderlings breastfeeding off their mothers before we finish, by tearing small holes in the webbing over their nipples. It would be nice to see the girls' embracing their new motherly role ;-)

Anonymous

Ditto. ZG's webbing is the most interesting and unique I have ever seen in any spider artwork. It fascinates me. I'd love to touch it, feel it and understand what it must feel like for the girls wrapped in it. Is it rigid, tight, constructive and uncomfortable or is it soft and luxurious while being sufficiently tight enough to prevent movement? It almost seems to have a paralytic effect on the victim. Regardless, it's beautiful and it's what ultimately made me decide to join the channel after seeing it elsewhere.

Ghost

I don’t think ZG need to end Pest control/RP with the deaths of the heroines at least from financial perspective they have essentially made this whole Patreon page working in the first place. Other series great, but spiders are the hotties thing I ever seen on pixiv so we all want to see more of it.

Chem321

Well death is more or less implied with the skull from panel 18. Also the simple fact the body gives out when the will to live dies. I am not arguing either for showing death or not but is pretty much the ending for most of the victims in Zero's different stories. ZeroG has mention doing alternate panels for different endings and I feel it is likely that will happen.

kradeno

Who knows how old the ones the skull from panel 18 belonged to was and/or maybe he wasn't a woman and the spiders use the men they manage to capture for direct sustenance? This could leave our heroines to serve as breeders for years or more, if ZeroG likes? A drugged breader may have no longer the will to live, but that doesn't mean at all, that she is able to escape her horrible situation through death at all in my opinion. :-)

Sacs19

Amazing work mate, you have such a unique and outstanding way of drawing this kind stuff, keep it up!

I agree that the spiders would eat what they can't impregnate, but I don't see men having a place in these stories. In my interpretation of the future universe in which these stories take place, men have been emaciated and reduced to domestic servants like the "furniture" girls in Soylent Green. They would not participate in any of these expeditions. I imagine the social hierarchy as a product of the radical feminist movement that started in the 1960s, gained momentum in the 21st century and exploded by the mid 21st century. In the end, the movement emaciated and oppressed men just as women were once oppressed, but it had given women a thirst for conquest. With the advent of interstellar travel women sought new worlds to conquer beyond the stars. This savage world inhabited by slugs, spiders and gastropods is one of those worlds. This is just one possible interpretation of the universe in which these stories take place. It's not canon.

zeroGravitas

Yeah that's not really the type of canon I have in mind. Men are just as likely to choose the adventurer's life as women are. Men kill monsters, get into trouble and die out in the wastes, just like women. The few girls we have followed so far are just a small sample of all the people in this line of work. I just draw the stories featuring some of the women, for obvious reasons :p

Anonymous

I agree Zero, that both men and women are equally expendable to the monsters, like in Aliens or Starship Troopers. I like to think that your series is set in a future where sexual freedom and gender roles have naturally progressed in society: which explains why literally all the women we see are strapping, independent amazon beauties. And that men are just as likely to be sexually exploited as the women, though for different reasons (although I just prefer to see the women in your series).

At first I imagined the gender equality as depicted in Starship Troopers but later I thought of a more dystopian interpretation of the universe in these stories. I recalled watching the movie Soylent Green in which luxury apartments were furnished with a servant girl. Objectified as "furniture", these women were required to satisfy every need and desire (including sex) of the tenants *and* their guests. They had to endure regular abuse and humiliation with a smile or be thrown out into the street. A dystopian world in which men were subject to that kind of treatment by the characters in these stories seemed interesting to me. When Lena made her debut I wondered what it would be like to belong to her and what she would demand of me. I'd love to cook dinner for such a beautiful woman every night, but what else might she demand? With no particular expectation I wanted to run the idea up the flagpole and see if anyone would salute it. If nobody does, that's okay. It's not my world. I will accept and enjoy whatever ZG decides to make canon.

zeroGravitas

Well, I was imagining starship troopers levels of equality, yes. Lena might very well have someone at home waiting for her to come back so he can be bossed around by her. She won't be back for a while though. I'm just saying that in this fictional society, everyone is equal(ly edible).

kradeno

I must admit, that I didn't think at all of any gender roles in the human society in my post. I just thought, that women can give birth to monsters and men can't, which is the only reason, why the monsters may consider men as food and breed women to create more offsprings instead of consuming them. Maybe it's selfish, but I would just prefer the lovely heroines not to be killed and eaten, but used in other ways for as long as possible in your worlds ;-)

kradeno

Who knows how old the ones the skull from panel 18 belonged to was and/or maybe he wasn't a woman and the spiders use the men they manage to capture for direct sustenance? Agreed. I was just thinking that men like me could also be used for things like hormone harvesting (with the giant slug) or being forcibly milked. Maybe the monsters steal men's seed and assimilate it in order to make them more reproductively compatible with our heroines?

I love the cute little spider on Kim's head in the final cell. It reminds me of a headcrab from Half-Life. If it had the same ability it would take control of her mind and make her more of a willing victim.

Anonymous

I would love to see more monsters like that in future works too. I think the little baby spider is just resting on its mother's head, perhaps even bonding a little :-)

GC4588

anyone down to RP?
