In this week's update, a minor variation on the cocoons in the spider's burrow, based on a couple of requests/suggestions. The new variants are uploaded to the archive.

I've mostly been working on Lena's story but didn't manage to finish the next part yet. It will be ready soon.

Absolutely fantastic work. If you ever return to this I hope we get to see the little spiders creeping out of all three of them.

Love the encased, is the most realistic version. I like the naked versions much more as long as you understand what happens under the spider web. How about making a version where you can see the progress of fertilization from inside the belly of the girls, to also understand how they reproduce. a phase-by-phase version would be really interesting to see!

Small changes, big impact! I swear these girls look like Fertility Angels, just the way they are posed in thier cocoons, with thier arms and legs bound together and bellies thrust out, really captures their beauty as expecting mothers. Although, judging from Sam's last two pregnancies, that position does make birth extremely difficult- not that theres anything wrong with that...

I have a question to ask: Do these spiders migrate? Insects ussually don't migrate since its hard for tiny creatures to traverse great distances but spiders that big are qualiffying for that to be a possibility. If they don't migrate, do they change nests or split the colony like bees do. If answer to any of these three questions are "yes" then there is a possibility that our unlucky pest-controller and her eaven more unlucky rescuers could be left unsuprevised and made it out off the nest and back to base, and by doing so accidently infesting the main base with newborn spiders. (No suggestions ofc.)

I hope we get to see all three births individually, in separate parts. That way we can see each girl's different, unique reaction to their special moment!

I honestly don't know the answers, but I suspect that the Alpha Spider and Sam's children are on the hunt for more food to feed the expecting Queens, and/or more hosts to fill that empty spot in the nest. After all, those girls need the extra nutrients to nourish their unborn brood!

I guess you are right, they are like bees. They do migrate and set up colonies all over the place. The nests themselves are usually sparsely populated. These spiders mature quickly and move out and start hunting shortly after birth. Escape from the nest might be difficult, but not impossible

I assume there are some workers who return to the nest right? Mostly to feed the girls, repair their cocoons, monitor the fetuses, and impregnate them again after they've given birth?

This is a brilliant series. The illustrations are amazing. Are you considering adding short written pieces to flesh out each 'chapter'?

That's a great idea! I've actually been thinking about writing a few short sentences describing what is happening in each part. Drawing isn't my thing, but I love forming complex narrations of the scene being presented.

(looks up from writing desk) I like the images as is, myself; they're great examples of non-verbal storytelling. zG's facial expressions are always exquisitely rendered. Of course, it'd be great if we had a Discord to share theorycrafting and other fiction about this universe as well, just so we don't clog the comments section with walls of text. But the sequences don't necessarily need any backstory, when what we get is so clear. (goes back to writing massive alternate ending that's rapidly turning into its own story about the Rescue Crew)

OK, I've decided what to do- I'll start off by writing a series of short paragraphs for each part of Gastropod Ambush- it's the shortest, simpelist and most 'tame' of ZG's series, so it will be a great way to exercise my writing skills. This project will simply be a fun way of narrating what is happening in each scene, and while I will add my own literary interpretations to it, it will try to stick as close to the tone and descriptions of the scene. I will try to get it completed over the weekend, but I have no idea how I will distribute it to you guys yet: either I will wait for the Discord to get up and running, or I could possibly Gmail it to ZG via Word Doc. You're free to provide feedback on it, but I will mostly be sticking to my own formula. And if most of you like it, I can write more paragraphs for the other series' (though they will take a LOT longer, obviously).

Oh yes I would very much like to read what you guys have to write about this. I am not really sure how to organize all that though. Also the discord is done and ready (and has been for a while). I have not yet made it official and linked it because I am worried discord duties (whatever that may be) are going to cut into my limited drawing time . But maybe I should just link it and see what happends.

I'll write it either in Word Document or Google docs and post a link in one of the comments, if that helps. Just have to do a bit of research, cause it's been awhile since I've done an online document.

This entire series was awesome. I love the whole damsel in distress thing. Hopefully more giant spider someday, in a jungle or something. I'd be curious to see how a trapdoor variant would look

Thank you so much by the way for the great series! Very very lovely indeed. (I just saw, that from picture 8 to 9 in the pest control series, the gloves are webbed at her sides, implying, that she stroked them off to get her hands free again :-D )
