Let's Welcome Our New Team Member (Patreon)

Hey friends!

I'd like to take a couple minutes of your time to introduce our newest team member Milana (a.k.a. YoruNoAme).

Milana is a self-taught 3D artist with some amazing skills to show. Her first model with us was fully sculpted, cut, and rendered on her own. She also comes with a great personality, as you would expect from someone whose name literally means "sweetheart", and has been an absolute joy to work with over the last month.

As some of you might remember, when Mofu quit the team in December I immediately announced that we found a new member to round out the team. A few weeks later the new girl decided not to join the team as she wasn't confident in her skills. I didn't want to push someone against their will, so we parted ways. Practically within the next hour I walked into a discussion on another Discord server where someone was showing off a model they had commissioned. The price seemed entirely too low for the quality that I had seen. I remember thinking, "such low prices should be illegal, that's way too much work for such a reward!" I DM'd the person and got the contact info of the artist. History won't remember the exact tactic used in this conversation, so we'll never know if threats, coercion, or blackmail was involved.

In the end I obtained the contact info and immediately got in touch with the artist. My sales pitch sucks. Mofu can attest to this. Regardless, I laid it all out as it was. We are a tiny team of two people. We are self-taught and have no idea what we are doing most of the time. We aren't even sure if we'd make it through another year, but we believe that artists deserve to be properly rewarded and recognized for their hard work, not hidden away while the managers claim all rewards for themselves. Contrary to my expectations, this worked again, and Milana jumped right in. She immediately took the lead on her first project for Bulkamancer Sculpts, Candace from Genshin Impact. As anyone in 3D printing communities can tell you, the Genshin fans are uncompromising and expect nothing but the best. I think we can all agree that Milana knocked it out of the park!

To top it all off, she turned out to be one of the nicest and most humble people I've ever had a pleasure to work with.

So, there you have it. The story of how we've found our new artist! Please, everyone. Let's give her a warm welcome and wish her a great success as part of our team!
