Some more NPC chibis! Cowgirls to the left, Sheep girls to the right. You might recognize one of the Cowgirl NPCs, the one with brown hair. I revealed her a while back but I didn't have a name for her back. I do now though: Her name is Cookie!
If the Sheep girls seem familiar, it's because they're acually variants of the ones from the last devlog. It's the same technique I used for a bunch of the Voleian NPCs: Switch the heads and bodies, then change the colors. It's a great and relatively simple way to add variety ^^

This time again, I've been extremely busy.
As I said last time, I started by drawing the new items. Ingredients dropped by monsters or found in the overworld, spells, relics, trinkets... Of course, I need to know what to draw before I draw it, so I had to think about each item and their effect beforehand. Still, it's all done! It actually went faster than I expected and I was able to finish every item instead of making duplicates within my planned timeframe. Not only that, but I improved the look of spells and combo spells. After that came the boring but necessary task of exporting each sprite and importing them in the game, creating a script for each item and sorting them.

Next was adding each spell and relic's effect. I had a somewhat easy time of it since several of them were pretty much already done thanks to my previous work on monster spells, which I was able to reuse to some extent. A few days later, I added every monstergirl as an actual playable character. Then, it was finally time to balance the stats! Monster stats, monster spells, playable character stats, relics, player spells and trinkets. I also improved the stat system a bit on top. It was a lot of testing but the result might still be a bit rough, I'm sure I'll have to come back to it eventually as some fights will without a doubt end up being too hard/too easy.

I didn't have the luxury to dwell on it given what was still left to do. Finishing the overworld rooms requires adding chests, secrets, traps, puzzles, cutscene triggers and NPCs! This is what I've been doing for about a week now and I expect it will take another 15 to 20 days, which won't leave me with much time to finish the rest and hopefully run some beta tests. It's still within my calculations to be clear, but it's stressful nonethless! No time to rest until the end of the month, basically.

There will be another 2 NPC polls this month. The last ones before the next demo! There won't be any poll in October as I'll have my hands full with fixing potential bugs, advertising, and I also want to rest for a bit. Then in November, the normal Monstergirl polls will finally return! ^^
