Height chart, some concepts and info (Patreon)
Content
UPD: uploaded the correct heights file. I've compiled so much of them that I clicked on the wrong one to upload...
1) So, I lined them all up, added a height chart in centimeters, here's what I got! Some things have changed from the previous chart, but not by much. On average, all the characters have approximately human height, however, in the furry world, I always liked the fact that they can vary greatly in size! :D I'm not sure if there are rabbits, squirrels, or mice in this city/country at all, because these races are managed by Deymos, but most likely they would be even smaller. Well, and various large creatures would be even bigger, apparently.
2) For the distinction between feline people and canine people, here are my ideas (yes, the hands are generally the same). Fox people have some features of both, because we all know that foxes are dogs with cat software!
3) And yes, I am often asked how and on what I draw. Here is how I draw - quite often, just on my lap (although I have a table). I don't have a giant computer with multiple monitors nor a gigantic tablet with a screen. I often move from place to place, I can draw at my friend's places, in a cafe, even in public transport sooo a small laptop with a small boardlike tablet is the best for me. But, after the treatment program is finished, I'll start saving for an iPad :)
And the drawing process looks like this:
1) Finding references and inspiration: photos from the internet or my own, 3D models, works of other artists or ai.
2) Searching for ideas: I make a few very schematic sketches to choose the most successful one.
3) Working on the sketch - I draw 1 or 2 iterations of sketches (which I usually upload here later).
4) Over the sketch, I make a clean, nice outline.
5) I fill the outline with a base color (sometimes a friend helps).
6) I draw simple backgrounds myself, usually with just on 1-2 layers, but if there's something
complex needed, I usually ask for help from background artists (otherwise I will completely fall behind schedule haha).
7) I draw shading for the characters, minding the lighting and background colors.
8) I add effects to the entire drawing: textures, highlights, small elements like droplets, smoke, dust, etc., and then I do color correction.
9) Ta-da!
