This is a preview of the World of Motion sequence from Journey to EPCOT Center. These images were originally drawn by Imagineer Marc Davis in 1977, and they were intended to be animated and projected on the walls of the attraction. This was part of a more avant-garde, Adventures Thru Inner Space-style World of Motion that Davis was developing with Claude Coats in 1977 before GM had signed on as a sponsor. GM's belief that the attraction needed to be more Disney would lead Imagineering to hire famous animator Ward Kimball to join the project. Many of Davis's drawings were cut and never animated, while others were placed in the background of Kimball's new scene. A few were adapted by Kimball into full show scenes.

As with other segments of the video, this period in EPCOT Center development is told through a single artistic style, this being stop motion (get it?). You can check my Twitter for a breakdown of how these effects were done.

oh sweet never knew that! Love the stop motion feel to them, was this cutout style what Marc envision exactly? Or was that just how you wanted to animate them?

I love that this is an exclusive, but I'm not gonna watch it because I want to take it all in in the video when it releases. I'm so pumped for this one in particular, you're going to knock it out of the park.
