The August Defunctland Official Meeting came to order around 10pm EST on August 11th, 2021.

During the Welcome portion of the night, we got a general idea of how everyone was doing and whether or not people saw the “Jungle Cruise”, “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, or any of the other big movies of the summer.  Kevin and a few folks mentioned seeing “THE Suicide Squad” which is supposedly better than the “Suicide Squad” film that preceded it. Big Beautiful "Disney had seen both SJ:TNL and JC and his assessment was “Space Jam was awful, Jungle Cruise was pretty good”.  We also watched the Porky Pig rap from SJ:TNL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmW6gyWd0-8) and listened to the true space jam of the summer, Nick Lutsko’s “Space Jam 2 Theme Song”.

After Welcome, it was time for Another Aks Kevin Anything.  There didn’t appear to be any questions on the Patreon post so people asked questions in the chat.

From Big Beautiful Disney, “food rocks episode when?” Kevin, “No.”

Lane then asked, “Did you have fun at the escape room?” in reference to a Blockbuster Video themed escape room he visited with Nate Begle and Disney Dan. Kevin said that the room was fun and that he loves escape rooms in general.

Brian asked, “Handwich written instructions when?” to which Kevin replied that someone had already posted the recipe online somewhere.  It was clarified that this question was more in reference to https://defunctland.com/handwich/. No exact ETA for an update was provided, just give him a minute.

Triforce888 asked, “would you ever make a defunctTV on something like Gargoyles? I know it's mostly been shows for very young kids” Kevin said sure, it’s considered. That he’s thought about doing some of the older kids' shows and that he knows there is a huge fanbase for a lot of animated shows.

Specialbunny asked “how's the epcot episode going?” Kevin said good.

Hackermandunk asked, “Bob Chapek?”. Kevin said he expects him to be fired soon over the Scarlett Johansson mess and that he thinks Bob Iger will take over as interim CEO. hackerman dunk recorded the quote, "He's a terrible CEO and he's gonna be fired within the next 2 years. Most likely 3 months."

Joe asked, “what do you think of disney charging an addional fee for some movies?” Kevin said it didn’t really matter and that he almost paid the extra for Black Widow but didn’t.

Zilbo asked, “how bad do you think the star wars hotel is going to be” Kevin said he didn’t expect it to be bad, just very expensive.

KThayes asked, “thoughts on monsters at work?”, Kevin said he hadn’t seen it but the animation didn’t look great.  Kevin said he liked “Monsters, Inc.” and “Monsters University”.

Ellie asked, “Since you're big on 90s nostalgia, any chance of covering the old edutainment game companies like Jumpstart, The Learning Company, etc?  You kinda touched on Broaderbund in the Carmen Sandiego ep”, Kevin said he thinks about it and doing games like Putt Putt, but it’s a crowded area and not necessarily his expertise.

Joe asked, “what is your preffed editing softwares? what other programs go into the episodes? also do you prefer making defunctland or defunct tv” Kevin said that Final Cut Pro was the best editing software for the types of videos Defunctland makes.  He also said that he uses After Effects and Photoshop.  Kevin said that he prefers Defunctland because he’s the one who makes the entirety of it and that DefunctTV is only work for him because he doesn’t get to do the fun stuff on it. Kevin said that he hates recording VO and that’s a big part of DefunctTV for him.

AndrewJNoe asked, ”You know @Corv™ (They/Them) speed run putt putt”.  Kevin hadn’t known this, but Defunctland’s very own Corvyn Hardwick is the current world record holder for speedrunning “Putt-Putt Joins the Circus” with no skips in 38 minutes and 17 seconds.  You can view the record here https://www.speedrun.com/puttcircus#No_Skips or watch the recording of the record breaking speedrun yourself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy-K-zkAow4 (I recommend watching on .5 speed so you catch every detail)

Brian asked “Any big documentary projects in the works like the Halyx documentary?” Kevin said that the upcoming Orchestral EPCOT episode, “A Dream Calls” is the biggest project since Halyx and that a lot of work has gone into the production.

Triforce888 asked, “is epcot as long as halyx?” and Kevin replied that no, it will probably be about 35 minutes.

Ellie asked, “So is the Epcot vid gonna come out on October 1?  That would be perfect” and Kevin said he hadn’t planned that but he’s not sure when it will be out. Hopefully, it will be done by then.

Specialbunny asked “is the music all done at this point?” and Kevin said there are a few songs that aren’t done.

Big Beautiful Disney asked “is there a wonders of life one?” and Kevin said no because the episode is limited to EPCOT's opening day attractions.

Lane asked, “is mayonnaise an instrument?” to which Kevin replied, “No Patrick, mayonnaise is not an instrument?”

Triforce888 asked, “favorite ride from each fl park” which seemed like kind of an elaborate question, and we were running out of time for the segment so we just kind of glossed over that because Florida has so many parks.

Lane asked “thoughts on PizzeRizzo?” and Kevin said that all Disney Pizza is terrible.

Finally, Specialbunny asked “Defunctland stickers for the store?” which, it looks like she had also asked earlier in the chat but we accidentally missed.  Unfortunately, we cut off A.A.K.A. before answering this question so make sure to tune in next time to A.A.A.K.A. and ask Kevin then to find out.

Next, we went to The Polls and asked a few questions of everyone at the meeting.  Here are the top results of the multiple-choice questions:

  • Who is your least favorite Muppet? “Elmo” (5 votes)

This concluded the Polls and all information was put into the algorithm™ for processing future data.

Next in the evening, we mourned the death of Dunk Accino and the defunct Daily Dunkaccino twitter account @DailyDunkaccino. We watched the “Dunkaccino but it's a Defunctland episode about the Daily Dunkaccino Twitter account” documentary by @defunctland.  The video was a brief history of the @DailyDunkaccino Twitter account as told by Kevin Perjurer of Defunctland. We also watched the sitcom episode of the Dunkaccino meme and shared animated gifs and images in the chat. Hackermandunk said at the memorial, “I’m still grieving” and AndrewJNoe would emote “That feeling when nothing's brewing :sadkermit:”. Many attendees would type “F” in chat in remembrance.  Everyone was sad to know that it’s not Dunk anymore, it’s Defunct.

Last on the schedule, we got the latest scoop on some Old News.  We took a look at and commented on some articles from years gone by, including:

  • “Topless woman is found in ‘Where’s Waldo?’ puzzle” Lexington Herald Leader - Oct 17, 1992
  • “The Muppets Are Super Puppets” The Leaf Chronicle - Sep 19, 1976

This concluded the August 11th Defunctland Official Meeting

Defunctland Game Night Report

On Thursday’s game night, Kevin Perjurer obliterated everyone at the premiere play of “What the Ep?” In the game, players got points for being the first to comment the name of a clip’s corresponding attraction or show.  Clips from Defunctland Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Debunkedland, DefunctTV, DefunctTV: Jim Henson, Minisodes, and whatever the Handwich and Defunctaccino videos are, were shown as determined by the algorithm™.

Kevin Perjurer murdered everybody.  He repeatedly stated “Bow down to me” in loud and deep tones as he commanded a lead oftentimes greater than double all other players combined.  Some rules of play were altered per Kevin’s command but overall the Perj’s speed, skill, and superior knowledge of his content were unmatched by any person who participated in the game. The final score for Kevin Perjurer (when he called for the end of the game) was a record-breaking 27. In second place was Blake. Exactly 20 points less than Kevin, with 7. Placing third for Bronze was Specialbunny with 4 points.  Congrats to everyone who made it on the board.  The score for Team Everybody But Kevin was 23 so unfortunately still not enough to beat him.  For his amazing accomplishment, the Perj was presented with a special celebration video. And that was the end of “What the Ep?”...

So those were the past few nights at Defunctland. What can I say other than We Like to Party.  Thanks to everyone who came and to everyone on Patreon.  Sorry if you weren’t able to join us for the fun. Thanks for your support.

Also, tonight at 8am EST, Kevin Perjurer and Matthew Serrano will be recording the Defunctland Patreon Podcast, a commentary of the HALYX documentary.  Join them in the discord if you are a Season Passholder or above.
