For the last few years, I've made short animations in between the larger animations. They began as animated gifs, became Gifdays and then morphed into DimMinis. They're fun little bonus content in my opinion.

But I've been wondering—what if, instead of making these quickie animations in between projects, I spent that time making a mini-RPG?

Imagine something like an RPG maker game, except made in my software, with animated sequences like I usually make. Some of the projects the excellent Hellbrain has made would be an example of what I would be trying to make.

How long would it take to make? No idea. But just to test the waters, the first project would likely be super simple, just to see if it's possible or you folks like it. I'm thinking something like an apartment complex, and a neighbour who may or may not be one of my OCs, who may or may not end up pregnant...Simple, but cosy, and hopefully with more to do / interact with than my usual animations.

If you're interested in me doing such a project, I would do 4-5 days of work on it in between the animated pin-ups I usually make, and at the end of the month I would post a WIP to play. Don't expect huge progress to begin with, but in time it would be fleshed out so there's plenty of interactive elements, maybe some secrets, and potentially multiple ways of causing pregnancy. But of course, let's not get ahead of ourselves...

So—are you interested in switching from making DimMinis to trying to make mini-RPGs/minigames? Or do you prefer I just keep making DimMinis?

As always, I don't mind doing either. This poll isn't definitive, but it will definitely help me decide if it's worth doing or not.

I think givin that you want to try something new and have said that the experience is not going to take away from the usual animations. Go for it. Game development will surely come across some hiccups as a new project but don't let those stop you. It also opens up to opportunities to ask for some programming related questions or task that others can try to help with if you find the need for it.

I miss Duesdays, those were fun

I'm not into downloading dozens of mini games but I always appreciate the effort and creativity of the indie game community. I say pursue those fun story notions you have and have fun with it!

DimPixelAnimations

You can always wait until it's more complete and just download the 1.0, or watch the video of the "best" parts, but I get that. As always, if other people come to agree with this position and don't like waiting, I can always go back to shorter animations.

Last year you made some quite excellent walk cycles for your animations. That Halloween one with the candy was almost a game of sorts. Would be cool to see what you could pull together, regardless of scale/depth.
