This option is now available for me, and as always, I prefer to let patrons have their say about such matters.

The image should be fairly clear, but basically the new system would mean that new patrons would be free of the "1st of the month = pledge is collected", and instead becomes "pledge is taken on the date they pledged, every month they stay pledged". Also, as the red text indicates, this change is permanent.

Note the text that states "existing patrons won't see any change". I presume this means that should I enable this option, you would need to unpledge and then repledge on the date you would prefer to be charged each month.

I have not opted into this system yet, hence this poll, but I think this would free myself from having to explain how Patreon works (a lot of people still don't grasp how / when pledges are taken), simplify things for patrons in terms of budgeting and also remove stress from myself in terms of worrying about the end of the month. Then again, I don't mind keeping my system the same as it is if people prefer it.

So, patrons of mine—should I enable the subscription billing, or leave my system as it is? Any questions can be asked in the comments below!

Also to note: if patrons vote to change, I will enable subscription billing on November 1st. I'm currently not sure how hiatuses would work under this system, and I might stop doing a month long hiatus and do smaller ones, with advance notice posted so folks can know I'm not actively working. I'll update you as I learn more information about this!

Maybe if you still stick with the first day of the month collecting pledges you can still take month long hiatus when you need to.

I can take month long hiatuses with the new system, the difference is that the month hiatus starts the moment I activate it instead of on the 1st of the month
