*Potential* Move To SubscribeStar (Patreon)

Patreon has sent out an email stating that they will begin asking 18+ creators to provide ID to continue using Patreon. I am not opposed to ensuring creators are of age, but I'm unsure if I want my details stored in such a system (although we have been assured the system our details will go into are highly secure). Plus, unless they accept my expired passport (I don't go anywhere and don't use it), I don't actually have a current valid ID XD (I will be getting my passport reissued ASAP)

As such, I might potentially move to SubscribeStar (or have no choice to). This will be annoying, but will have a few benefits: I won't have to transfer my money through Paypal (which takes a small cut and has bad exchange rates), and polls will be more streamlined, especially when it comes to extra votes (it applies "weighted" votes for higher tiers). 

If my move is sudden, I will make it clear that I no longer consider Patreon my active page, and link you to my SubscribeStar page, along with pausing Patreon until everyone has moved or gotten everything they want from Patreon. After a month or two, I will delete this page entirely (or Patreon will delete it for me). Any rewards / animated pin-ups that were planning to be made will still be made, and sent out to patrons for as long as my page is active. After a certain point, all content will switch entirely to SubscribeStar. 

Of course, that's only if I decide to go / I am forced to switch sites. You will be the first to know if I am moving my operations to SubscribeStar. I will let you know how things pan out in the next few weeks / months. Any questions / queries, let me know in the comments / via DMs!

Also: I am trying my best to finish Hana's 2nd Deluxe for the 24th / 25th. On the final scene now and then clean up, so wish me luck!

I hate subscribestar website. In my country They always asking a code after try to login a account BUT code is sending to me after 3 - 10 hours while I have only 5 minutes to copy and paste code to the website! Subscribestar support system sucks!

SubscribeStar has a worse interface, especially on mobile. I'd personally ask you don't migrate but I get if you do

Ill take subscribestar over this any day. I've seen them shadowban creators numerous times on here saying its because of certain material yet other creators have more explicit materials...

Yeah, that doesn't sound helpful. If I have to move, we'll try to figure out some way to deal with that delay, perhaps posting rewards to Discord or something.

Yeah, I wonder how that all works. I've made some moderately explicit stuff but not gotten any comments from Patreon about it, and then seen other creators with mild nudity get into trouble. Perhaps I've just been lucky >_>

Man from what I’m hearing subscribeStar sucks and Patreon started going to shit a year ago. What about onlyfans? They got a good interface, polls and it not just pron even tho that’s what it’s famous for. Or even fansly. Also just a Assumption but I’m guessing people hear already have an onlyfans lol. Edit: Wait onlyfans might have to authentic too🫤. Not sure though. I guess this is the type of direction where these types of platforms are moving towards

well i am in the discord so i can stay up to date. will say dumA move on patreons turn. to storing ID data but something like that was bound to appear with how patreon has been going

Patreon can't really be trusted with much with how arbitrary they are. Usually if a creator I support has an alternative like subscribestar or a fanbox i usually go there. Go for it.

Considering how many people run shady accounts, I can't blame these sites for insisting on ID to prove who you are. If you want to blame anyone for these kind of restrictions, blame those who misuse and abuse sites like Patreon / OnlyFans for their nefarious means

I can't blame them for doing so, as a lot of accounts could be run by people who should not be allowed to have one. As long as my data isn't misused, I can deal with it I suppose

Well I'd rather not change things unless I really have to, so I'll be staying with Patreon unless I have no other choice. We'll see what happens!

I think that would usually be a wise decision, to move from patreon. But sadly, subscribestar doesn't support Paypal, and, at least in my estimation, it would sink your support. My suggestion would be to think it over and maybe see if there isn't an alternative.

I've seen a lot of artists with a fairly big following on SubscribeStar so I *think* I would be okay, but again I only intend to move if I have no other choice. I suppose there are other sites, would have to do some research and see which ones might suit my content the best

To be honest I am not that well-versed in the thing called SubscribeStar. I mean I have heard of it and visited a couple times but only in a few instances. Not sure how it would work to be honest.

Basically very similar to Patreon, except they're aimed towards more NSFW creators. The major different would be no Paypal support and the reliance on bank accounts / credit cards, which not a lot of people have access to. From what I've seen / experienced, it's a viable alternative should things go awry with Patreon
