Heya everyone !
After taking care of the boss fight in an interesting way, I now need to find a way to wrap-up the game. This feel like a trivial point but there's many things to adress : should the game continue after the ending? What should change (or not?) after the ending? Is there multiple ending? So, let's try to adress that.
First of, I think the game should continue naturally after the ending. Some games like to do a "soft reset" where you just re-spawn after the whole ending sequence at your last save point. There's a clear benefit: you can retry the ending as much as you want. But, on the other hand, it feel a bit cheap. So, I ruled it out and the game will continue.
Second, there will be some changes in the world after the ending. I want to create some "post end" content and that's the perfect occasion. It will probably not change much right on the next release, but as we keep progressing through the next updates, some things will probably move a bit. Maybe the hospital will get to be totally free of guards, for example?
Third, there will not be multiple endings in a strict sense, but you will get some choices. I played a bit around the idea of Jason getting "accidentally" babyfied, and you might have a part to play in this...I also loved the idea of taking the big bad place and work on regressing NPCs... But this will be up to you and the choices you'll made at the end!
So, that's a big chunk done ! I still have a bit of polishing to do on the whole boss + ending sequence, mainly the balancing of the fight and the writing for the dialogs, but most of the work is done.
Now, I will begin to work on the observatory. It's kinda backward, because I already did the end of the level, but I felt like the boss had to be done first !
