The witch cultists didn't show up earlier, Subaru and Rem did since they left earlier than the first trip (no layover at the inn to stay the night, etc). Betelgeuse can just be called Beetlejuice, it works just fine. I assume that they chose now to attack because Roswaal apparently isn't around, being the strongest magic user means any time he leaves is a good time to strike.

@Hoa - If the show is being intentionally vague about something that will be revealed later, there's no reason to draw attention if the reactor didn't come to the conclusion you were expecting. It'd be one thing if that detail never comes up again, but there's literally a reveal for this later.

i think it's already a reveal at ep 15, the motive and what happened is the vague and important part. They simply just not realised who voice it is. If some other people that can remember who voice it is, watch. They can recognize it and know who is it already. It is not a detail that is important enough to hide.
