So a couple of things about volleyball: -In order to win a set, you have to win by at least 2 points. So when both teams reach match point at the same time, it's referred to as a Deuce and then goes past the 25 points. So if each side keeps only scoring one point at a time, the set continues until one team is ahead by 2 points. -When they were talking about Hinata's cross, they were referring to his shot that cuts diagonally across the court. A straight is as it sounds, the ball being shot straight ahead. A "line shot" is whenever someone spikes a straight right along the out of bounds line. -When Oikawa and Kageyama stole the ball from one another, each time The ball hadn't quite crossed the net and was still in each respective player's court, if only just barely.

I don't know you're filming schedule but I'd recommend watching the last two episodes of season 1 in the same sitting as the first episode of season 2

My MVP is Hinata. Seijou seemed troubled by him in this episode more than any other Karasuno player. He was the most dangerous element in Karasuno in this set. Even the points of Tanaka and Asahi were partly because of Hinata being the ultimate decoy. Kageyama, Tanaka, and Noya are all good shots as well, but Hinata edges it for me :)

I have to agree with a lot of people in the comments. Hinata clearly put so much effort in this game. While it is Kageyama who had a good moment, you should remember the fact, that even he admited, that he was about to toss to Hinata when he KNEW it was best to do a middle attack to Asahi. That in my eyes speaks for how good Hinata did his job in this episode and deserves the MVP.

I'm not sure if anyone explained the symbolism for the hand reaching for the jersey but it was mainly how karusuno was trying to catch up and surpass the other team such as when sejioh scored the white jersey went further ahead and when karusuno scored the hand was closer to the white jersey. So when the hand finally made contact with the white jersey it symbolized karusuno had caught up to sejoh and the score was tied.

Probably the hardest MVP so far as everyone played their asses off. I'd probably lean towards Aoba Johsai's libero (Watari). He countered Hinata's quick and showcased the first back of the line Libero set. Also had a couple ridiculous digs throughout. Hard to give MVP to other team but Watari stood out from a single player performance more than any of the boys. But never gonna complain about the bald man getting MVP!

Jjj.

guys i hope you don't miss the after credit scene on ep 24!

I feel the same way as a lot of people in the comments. Hinata was the clear MVP for me in this episode. He's the only one that can actually make Kageyama second guess himself.

I love love how both ange and carlie gets so passionate and invested in our boys but still manages to appreciates the plays and personality of the other teams almost instantaneously!! (Albeit reluctantly sometimes 😂) ik ppl can get askewed opinions during the high tension games especially if ur passionate so i rly appreciate this from you guys, it makes it much more enjoyable for impatient watchers like me :)))

This is like my third comment on this same video, but I'd say that my MVP either goes to Noya(specifically because it was pointed out by the other team that Noya was playing better defensively) or to Watari, Aoba Josai's Libero. He was in the zone and stopping attack after attack. Definitely an underrated player.

The MVP system works so well w/ a sports anime. I loved the discussions at the end.

I mentioned this last video, you have to reach 25 and be leading by two points. So since they’re both at 24 now whoever gets a two point lead first wins.

I think MVP goes to Hinata this episode for his intense decoy abilities, allowing Karasuno to score multiple points, as well as himself scoring multiple points, using the broad attack that flustered the other team, the save receive that scored a point and the matchpoint, which even surprised Kagayama, because it wasn’t a planned set. His attacks forced Oikawa’s coach to call a time out and the opponents really did not want Hinata on the front line because he was changing the momentum of the game.

For me Hinata was the clear MVP, he was the ultimate decoy, to the point where even kageyama was going to toss the ball to him knowing that it was better to toss Asahi, also the moment where he smashed his face trying to get the ball, my respects

Hinata is MVP for me. - Even though Oikawa called him "the little sucky guy" he also said he always gets uneasy when Hinata rotates to the front row. Oikawa also called Hinatas broad cross "God like", so even though he doesn't necessarily respect him, he knows Hinata is a problem - When you hear the guys from the stands talk about how tiring it was and that they sometimes wished someone else would spike or block, you see a tired Hinata but he's smiling, wanting the ball and calling for it - He got quite a few points with his broad cross, he scored a point when he saved Tanakas receive (face planting while doing it lol) and the other spikers were able to score thanks to him being the decoy - He is such an amazing decoy that Kageyama felt almost compelled to give him the ball, even though he knew Asahi was the right choice at that time - And the last point, Hinata was in the air, ready and waiting for Kageyama to give him the toss "If we fall, fall forward!" I love that line. Nishinoya gave Hinata quite a run for his money with this line alone for me lol

I might be the only guy in the comments that agrees with you about Kageyama being the MVP. People keep talking about Hinata's decoy abilities but seem to forget that no other setter can do what Kageyama does and get him the ball that fast and with that precision. The skill and concentration that takes is other worldly and people just take it for granted that he is able to do that consistently again and again. At this point Hinata has almost no skill. He misses half his serves, can't receive or block properly. All he's doing is jumping and closing his eyes while Kageyama sets everything up for him. No other setter we've met can do what Kageyama does. Would Hinata even be starting in Karasuno or any other team for that matter if not for Kageyama? At this point Hinata is only as good as how Kageyama makes him seem. People who are talking about Hinata's energy also seem to forget that Hinata only plays in half the game. He gets rotated out immediately after reaching the backline and doesn't affect the game half of the time. Meanwhile, players like Kageyama (with the exception of this match when he was subbed for a while), Asahi, Tanaka, Daichi all play the full game. Speaking of this match in particular, Kageyama was going head to head with the best setter in his prefecture, two years senior to him, someone he idolized and didn't know he could beat and did incredibly well. He was the reason they got back in the game in the second set and again without him there is no Hinata. He was reading Oikawa's movements and making impressive play after play. So yeah he's the MVP for me.

Yes. Kageyama is great, but to take all credit away from Hinata is just fanboy territory. Kageyama's fast setting literally got him benched in Jr. High, and without Hinata's speed, athleticism, and willingness to be used the way he is by the team, the fast setting wouldn't work in high school. Kurasuno would've lost to Date Tech. To say there is no Hinata without Kageyama is false when Kurasuno literally would be at home by this point without Hinata.

Meg

Kageyama is spectacular, no doubt. But in this episode Hinata was the clear MVP :D

just to put things into perspective, you only get to continue to serve as long as you score points off of that, once your sever is dug out or you miss you're off the court immediately no second chances. which is why i think yamaguchi did better than you'd think for his first ever pinch serve imo
