Amrith

A hearty congrats to our pun queen Carlie who predicted this way earlier. Hold your head high with pride.

Christiano

idk what happened but I cant access the onk episode 4 although I'm on full jellie tier

Amrith

Give it 10 mins to an hour. It usually sorts itself out.

Halibel

same issue btw cause it says im a paid member but can't access it is it patreon itself?

Carlie & Ange

It should fix itself. No idea why it happens. Even tho the vid has been processed it sometimes takes a few minutes

BBT

that "kiss, marry, kill" was too much. I can't

KaijinGarou

What a way to roast Selim for no reason, Ange. You're hurting that poor kid's pride.

Night Sterling

I knew the selim/pride reveal was gonna be epic once Carlie guessed it a few eps ago and Ange definitely did not disappoint with the reaction 😂

CheekyWalrus

No spoilers obviously but you have been told part of father's goal by envy when Ed asked a question about the broken tablets from Xerxes that are in gluttony's stomach. Maybe go rewatch the final episode when they are in his stomach for a memory refresh. I think it's like ep 26 or 27.

Pride was pulled away when Hawkeye came to deliver the papers. He can't be everywhere all at once. It must take an immense effort to be that far away. So those men were saved by Hawkeye without either of them knowing it.

As amoral and sociopathic as the character is, Carlie is right about Kimblee, he was being genuine to Winry. Spoiler-free and with what they’ve seen so far, we know he’s someone who isn’t really a liar and can be very brutally honest (like in the Ishvalan war flashback with Mustang, Hughes, and Hawkeye), and that he also respects people who stick to their guns and do their duty (such as Winry’s parents, who did their duty as doctors to the very end, and to Winry, who is just as dedicated as an mechanic).

Driscollis

to quote Bradley, "Selim will never work as a point of weakness in my life"

Love the intro cover! Great cover. Always looking forward to that part.

One thing I want to point out about the essay scene with Selim and Wrath is that it came right after the part where Wrath said “Maybe it’s time for us to step aside for the new generation.” That’s when Pride told him that Father may consider it to be treason, and that he wont tell him about what Wrath said that night. The essay was meant to subtly remind Wrath that his dedication to their “plan” was the only thing he should be concerned with. It was a way to reiterate to Wrath that he has a duty to fulfill.

Hans Wurst

I'm glad you acknowledge that while Kimblee is a sociopath who loved his time in Ishval, a lot of 'our people' were also there and did their part of the killings. The fact that they felt bad about it, doesn't really make it better. Kimblee is a monster but Mustang, Hawkeye and Hughes also killed innocent Ishvalins. People seem to forget that because we like them.

Roboton

Nice catch. Never thought about that interpretation

2023-07-07 01:05:03 Kimbley is interesting to me because he's a good example of the dissonance we feel when we learn that someone terrible can still act reasonable like us or even show "kindness" in some cases (like being animal friends, despite killing people etc.). I think he's genuine with what he means when he explains he admires the Rockbells' courage.

And probably the father in the essay was the Father and not Bradley...

KaijinGarou

I'd love that. It's one of a few animes not to have a single bad op or ed.

Foaming Clean

Agreed, I like that the most important thing to him is that people have clear personal ideals and adhere to them. He's sort of melding a really strong moral archetype with traits that are traditionally amoral.
