Charge up front is a "pay the moment you join" option. It's not like that same that everyone can join first for free and be charged at the 1st of the next month.

For the Old supporters, no extra payment is needed unless you change the tier to higher. Patreon will charge you on the 1st of next month as normal. But changing to lower tier during the month won't give you refund. You'll be charged at the highest tier until the 1st of next month.
