Minor update this time! My stream's starting btw~

1-2 weeks break(ish)

I'm moving to Europe from the US in like a week. It is... very time consuming. I wasn't able to focus on the game as much as I'd planned this week. It's time to give in and admit I need a hiatus to make the flight deadline. 

I tend to overwork myself though and burnout is bad for everyone. But damn, I just wanna keep going. Some of the hardest code problems have been dealt with and that makes me super excited for the next steps.

But yeah, no stream for the next couple of weeks! Game progress will be slower. I'll still be working on the game when I can cause I can't stop myself >.>;


Game stuff

I've been sneaking in some coding and planning here and there-

This week I've been working on item/character interactions and bounding boxes. Making it so you can grab the toys by their bounding boxes feels pretty nice. It required a whole set of code to properly handle toy interaction. I'm still bugfixing it, but we're nearly done there.

Beyond that, I'm looking at an idea to make effects on body parts, like subtle sparkles or a throbbing red glow, to indicate what sensations are being felt where. I think it'd be gratifying to see how, for example, the sensations of org*sm differ based on the body and stimulation. It might be entirely focused on the p*nis, or spread all the way up through the lower belly, etc. 

Nothing's set in stone there. I'm excited to start prototyping some ideas though! 

There's a threat of visual clutter which I wanna avoid. But it addresses one of my biggest design challenges- the characters' ability to communicate what they're experiencing to the player.

And lastly I'm investigating my oldest nemesis, UI design. Honestly I just hate it. For now it'll be somewhat ugly just cause it's not the main focus of this rework, but over time I'd like to manage to make a friendly and usable interface.

This is a big topic, but I've been looking at inspirations from gameuidatabase.com and trying to sort out what this game needs. If anyone has suggestions/examples of stuff you think would fit, please share! I'll work on prototyping some ideas later on for testing ^^


Q&A

Will there be an Android/mobile version? It's possible, and I'll make an effort for mobile, but it's not the main focus. With the rework it's a lot more possible to accommodate for mobile screens at least!
