Also, an update on the Patreon release format- I'm thinking of making dev builds Patrons-only. Dev builds are going to have bugs, missing content, and probably sometimes just not work. It'll be less stressful to me if these go to patrons only, since my patrons all know this is a work in progress and are supporting the project's development. I'd rather not push out a broken build to the public and have someone's first impression be "huh, this game doesn't work". The larger alpha releases will still go public after some testing with patrons.
To emphasize- the game is free and will continue to be free. Dev builds won't contain exclusive content, and public builds won't be slowed down because of them. I'll be making public releases when the game is in a good state to do so. The time between them will hopefully get shorter and shorter as the core game gets closer to feature-complete.
My goal for the next public release is a version with the new Rarity rig, the new title and character select screens, and a legit (i.e. usable) UI. There'll be some gameplay changes too, but the major stuff in that category will come after Rarity.
Before that I want to get some dev builds out so Patrons can play around with the new content. Today I made good progress on solving the largest bug currently affecting the game (it was preventing the browser version from loading in assets or generally working at all). I'm feeling good about bundling up a dev build release when I'm done sorting that part out.
