Thanks to premium patron Duckmeat, this week we're looking at a recent Disney Channel hit that's equal parts heartwarming and hilarious. Based on the real-life story of its creators, The Houghton Brothers, Big City Greens tells the tale of a family of transplants pulled out of the country and plopped down in the big city—specifically, the Big City. And for our podcast discussion, we're highlighting one of the funniest episodes to date, in which a Billy the Big Mouth Bass clone drives most of the Green family into a state of murderous insanity! So sit back and listen in as we talk about a different bug-eyed, yellow-skinned family that's worth watching.

The problem with fanboy was not that it was cgi it look the same if it was 2D.

I'd like to submit Rugrats as evidence that 3D can make a style look less appealing ETA: Someone alerted me to 2D concept art of Fanboy & Chum Chum (you can easily Google for it). It looks much better!

Ok ok imma chef, been one a while. I gotta know, who’s putting ketchup in their mild sauce? Henry really through me through a loop on that catfish accoutrement.

I'm new to the whole "Chicago mild sauce" world, so I don't have any authority. I watched a few video essays on it, and also read this Chicago Tribune piece that says "Gary Wiviott, pitmaster at Lincoln Park's Barn & Company, guesses mild sauce's proportions are 5 parts barbecue sauce to 2 parts ketchup and 1 part hot sauce" https://www.chicagotribune.com/dining/ct-mild-sauce-hearken-food-0628-story.html Any Chicago natives that know this better than me, please chime in, but from what I read (and how it tasted) I definitely tasted some ketchup in Harold's Mild Sauce. - Henry

I love big city greens! My introduction to it was through a podcast intersection actually. Caldwell Tanner is a cast member for Not Another DnD Podcast, and is a storyboard artist for the show. Great show for anybody who likes actual play, it's full of a lot of former college humor alumni. Also, at least two of the McElroy's have made episode defining voice appearances on there as well. Justin McElroy's character is especially hilarious, I would go seek that one out.

Big City Greens is such a fun show. During the height of the pandemic, my brother and I would occasionally catch it on TV and it was quite the burst of comfort during a harsh year. I’m glad cozy comfort shows like this exist alongside the big, serialized adventure shows. Variety is the spice of life! Also, if I ever get my own cartoon, you guys are definitely making voice cameos lol. I promise you that!

Alice In Wonderland is just a bunch of complex math jokes. Blew my damn mind when I found that out. the number of math references outnumbers the drug references by a staggering amount
