dev diary: the plush campaign is going but i'm thinking about a billion other things (Patreon)

long title this week... umm first of all YAY THE CAMPAIGN IS A SUCCESS!!! i wasn't as worried about it this time since SO many people asked for maiden and overlord specifically during the underling campaign. and now people are asking for hero (of course), and... pastille and periwinkle??!??! well gosh i guess that will have to happen someday now won't it <3

i have a bunch of other stuff to talk about today though! namely:

• the impending sex advice succubus update
• webcomic stuff
• vocaloid album plans(!!!)

no treat news since i've been taking a break from it... i figured out an exciting story thing recently though so it won't be too long before i dive back in hehe.

the next SAS update

we're coming up on the first anniversary for this game!!! it's... wow, this saturday??? ok well i don't think i can finish a build before then, because i've only gotten as far as a general outline (i haven't even drawn the new character yet...)

jaelights has been working on the songs for this though!!! she already sent me 4 tracks... (i mean they're not FINISHED but they're awesome!!!) i'm excited...

when i planned out my year in january i figured i'd work on this game during march, and it seems to be shaking out that way!! i know i don't want to do nanoreno this year (it'd be too much of a distraction from treat) so a SAS update fills that slot nicely... i was THINKING of just moving it up to this month, but i had so much other stuff going on, it's good that i didn't force myself... i was actually really worn out the last few days, but i'm feeling back on track after resting :)

so yeah, this is the next project i'm focusing on!! the new character is an older married guy trying to rekindle his relationship with his wife, which i think will be really fun to write! he'll be a new type of demon too... i'll share his concept art next week, assuming i draw him in the next few days.

webcomic stuff

i wasn't sure when i wanted to do the print run for another piece of candy volume 2... but i'm actually going to be taking an extended vacation in may-june, which helped me decide things (i'll share more info as that date approaches haha).

i haven't drawn the cover yet, and the printing process is like... i send the pdf, they sent a physical proof (this takes a week or so), and then i make changes so they can print the full order, which takes anywhere from 2-5 weeks to get to me. so reasonably i'd have the books by april if i rushed it, but i'd have to close the shop while i'm gone in may... so i would RATHER just worry about it when i get back!

this is longer than i expected to take for the next batch of books, but since the end of august is the comic's anniversary, i think it's nice to just make it an annual thing :) i'll start planning some extra goodies to go with it as well... maybe more flat stuff this time, like special postcards/mini-prints.

anyway, weekly updates on the site will continue as normal, even during my vacation! i don't have another event planned yet, but i'd like to do one again, maybe in the fall or something... depending on what my schedule looks like at that point haha.

vocaloid album plans!

ok this is actually most of what i've been doing this past week. i wrote a post about it on cohost, but i want to release an album of my vocal synth songs! it's not truly vocaloid but... there is one song featuring miku so i'm calling it a vocaloid album. 

here is the tracklist (from my notion)

i want to do remasters of raining, pouring and shifting since they both use eleanor lite... i won't delete/unlist the current versions, but i hope i can make nicer ones, especially now that i have more experience. spiderweb and something wrong feel good enough as-is, and the rest i haven't finished yet.

good intentions (a teto song!) is the one i mentioned working on in my public post, and i was thinking of sharing a preview today but it still has a bunch more work to be done so i'm gonna save it for another time! last night i actually ended up making A TON of progress on fracture too... lifeguard is one i've been struggling to finish since i wrote it in 2020......... and demon in the grave is a miku song that's similarly unfinished (but from 2022 instead of 2020 lol)

so yeah, most of these songs are at least halfway done! which makes me think it's reasonable to try to finish it by the end of the year!

i'm gonna see if i can do a physical version too because that would be really cool... either way, it'll be up on spotify and whatnot!! i don't think i can make full albums that often because it's A TON OF MENTAL ENERGY but i'm really happy with this as a piece of art, so i'm excited to try to finish and release it.
