RIP Livy (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

today is going to be a super short update. I did not really get any work done. Our Cat, Livy, died on Wednesday after a long time of ups and downs with her health. I was at the doctor on a weekly basis and last week Friday everything looked great and that she would take the turn, but then she very quickly was getting weaker.

Wednesday morning I was at the doctor again to get her a booster infusion and check her blood. Her values got a lot worse and the doctors were surprised that she was still alive. She got another infusion and Oxygen to help her a bit, but they already told me that she would be dying soon and recommended euthanizing her. I did not want to make that decision on the spot and took her back home.

In the evening she started breathing really heavily (what they also told me might happen) and I decided to call the vet to euthanize her so she would not slowly suffocate. That´s a horrible way to go. So she just got an overdose of sleeping aid and died cuddling in my arms, purring until the end...

She really was like another child to me, helping me through a lot of really bad times with her unconditional love. I miss her a lot... But she is definitely in a better place now. I am glad I could at least be with her at home when she left.

I need some time now to get back on my feet and also be there for my wife and 2 kids. Especially my older kid was very close with Livy as well.
