Hey everyone!

so finally I can present to you the full movie in 4k and 60fps. I did some improvements from last time so it's really nice right now.

What I also did was creating a first executable (PC only right now) for you to test :)

There is a frame counter implemented and I would like you to let me know what your PC specs are and the frame-rate you are getting. There is however a minor bug in the framcounter, becaue Unity can count only up to the maximum refresh rate of your monitor! I don´t know why they have it, but that´s just the way it is. So in my case, I get a maximum of 60fps because that´s the refresh rate of my monitor.

So please test it on your PC and let me know your specs and if it runs smooth!

You can find both the movie and the executable here:

Other than that I am still doing some R&D work and I enjoy it a lot. And of course there is progress!  Here is a first version of the Museum in Unity. I think it looks really really nice. I am really so happy about switching to realtime rendering! Everything is so much easier and faster :) And I can give you interactive stuff to look at :)

So in the next update, I want to give you the Museum to play around and test the performance. In the meantime, Marie is writing the script for EP5 and we are doing recordings for the voice overs once she is done.

I hope you like the update and I am very much looking forward to getting your benchmark results.

Have a great weekend,
Puppetmaster

You are awesome! Just thought you should know this. XD

For some reason this version is very jittery compared to earlier versions. Where do I find the counter you said was included so I can give you the information you wanted.

MrKnobb

They do grow bigger over time hey PuppetM?

The frame-counter is just on the executable (top left corner). What you are watching is just the video. But it's in 4k and 60 frames per second. Maybe your hardware is not powerful enough to play a movie with that resolution? That´s the only reason I can think of why it´s jerky.

Bob Fink

Strange, the specs say it should handle it fine, but the frame counter is saying I'm only getting 10 fps. Not sure why it's not running at the full 60 fps that it's rated for.

Ok, we have 2 things we need to distinguish: 1. the movie: that´s an mp4 file in 4k with 60fps 2. the executeable: that´s something where you have to run the exe-file. that´s a realtime application and therefore the framerate can be low. What I need to know: - are you refering to the movie or the application? - what specs do you have? - if you watch the mp4 file/movie, what player do you use?

Bob Fink

On the movie I've tried both Windows Media Player and Movies and TV player. I have an Intel HD Graphics 620 with 16 Gb video ram and a 2.7 GHz processor. Windows 10, 16 Gb RAM Dual core i7 2.7 GHz processor.

Ok, the limiting factor seems to be that you do not have a dedicated graphics card. I made a FullHD (1080p) version of the movie. Please try and see how that works for you: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r7pijoy8hmg0ph5/Double_Boobjob_1080p_60fps.mp4?dl=0

Ok great! So I will provide 1080p versions also in the future! You could however try VLC-Player also. It would be cool if you can watch 4k videos as well. Please give VLC a try as well and let me know, thanks!

Bob Fink

Thanks for the tip, with VLC I can watch the 4K version and it looks so much better!
