I decided to do another 1.17.X update due popular requests to fix SteamVR pointer angle, fix broken Oculus native finger posing, and fix WMR finger posing issues (all of which have been addressed here).

Important: to get this update, you must have the latest version of the updater and choose a new beta opt-in checkbox. If you don't wish to participate in the beta, just keep running 1.17.0.6. I will likely move this release out of beta after another week of testing.

To get 1.17.7.1, just run the updater you have in your existing VaM install directory and it should update the updater if it is not latest. Then once you opt-in to the beta you should see option to download 1.17.7.1 version. If you don't yet have the updater or you don't see the beta check-box, you can get the latest updater HERE

Release Notes:

Features:

  • Added SteamVR pointer angle user pref and set a better default (45 degrees)
  • Added new user pref to disable teleport when possessing. Option enabled by default
  • Added higher physics rates meant to be used with slow motion (low values of time scale) only: 120, 144, 240, 288

Tweaks:

  • SteamVR mode – added fallback to standard pose and trigger grab when finger skeleton is not available. Mostly for WMR users
  • Always show ray lines when UI is open for easier pointing

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Oculus native mode to correctly work with new finger pose user prefs.
  • (1.17.7.0 -> 1.17.7.1) Fixed issue with new pointer angle not getting correct default on startup and also not properly saving to prefs file when changed

Can't wait to check it out tonight.

Dude. I'm loving this. Excellent work, and by far the best adult VR. The possibilities are endless. Keep up the great work!

I am constantly drifting forward in the latest beta ... was not happening in the latest stable ... going to try to work my way back through versions to see if I can solve it without going all the way back to stable ... WMR Update: 1.17.7.1, 1.17.6.1 and 1.17.5.1 all have the drift issue for me ... reverting to 1.17.0.6 now to make sure that does in fact fix it (as that version did not have the issue prior to opting in to beta) Update: Confirmed, problem does NOT exist in 1.17.0.6

False positive. A lot of updaters get flagged like this due to their nature.

WMR controller binding edits in SteamVR do not save properly. The edit works for the current session, but on restarting VaM this message appears: "Windows Mixed Reality Controller binding for VaM.exe was from older version of VaM.exe. Your bindings have been set back to the default." I've used edited settings without problems until 117.5 etc.

I've noticed the "flat penis" thing happens when using morphs to make the guy fatter or heavier. I don't know what the issue is, but I'd love to see it fixed.

I've commented below and on Discord. I can't figure out how to post on Trello, but here's my issue: VaM worked for me just fine until I started adding plug ins, scenes, mods, etc. Now when I try to open it there's a little red box with an exclamation point over the VaM logo and text saying "VaM - Unity 2018.1.9f1_24bbd83e8b9e", then progress bar stalls after like 2 seconds and shuts down. I deleted everything in the VaM folder, did several fresh installs, installed the newest version of Unity, installed Unity 2018.1.7f1, tried the beta channel, tried Ver 1.13.0.1, same results.

I'm not only new to "Meshed VR" but also to Patreon. So this is the first thing I support on Patreon. If the story continues as it did as yet - I'll stay forever :-) Thanks to everyone who made this possible and is working on the project and scenes and all the stuff that belongs to it. Keeping all fingers crossed that this becomes a great project with many many users and supporters.

How do I possess a character? I've read this post and have the exact same symptoms described by the OP: https://www.reddit.com/r/VAMscenes/comments/a9ii9w/how_do_i_possess_a_person/ But had no luck in figuring out how to do it; Could someone put a step by step or a gif on how to do it? I've also watched a video tutorial but it also does nothing... The person who answered the question said the possess and align to head would place you where the character is, but it really doesn't go anywhere. Is this a bug? What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a way for me to change the controller mapping? I'm constantly teleporting instead of selecting the desired menu option. (I'm using the old Vive)

AWWalker

GO to trello and log issues, not here. meshed doesn't monitor this

TomahawkJackson helped me out on Discord! He wrote a step by step on the wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/VirtAMate/wiki/guides/possessionmode

Any way to get physical hands for index controllers?
