Release highlights:

 • The Club environment & props. Glowing laser lights and other cool stuff! And finally a proper dance pole!
 • Major performance updates. VaM should generally run much better now!
 • Male character improvements: new skin, 100s of morphs, new clothes, advanced colliders in pelvis region (more regions coming in future release), anatomy completion
 • New flexible dildo toy thanks to contract work from backer TerCraft! Thanks TerCraft! Great work!
 • Included community looks pack compiled by NutkinChan/Ross Parker. Thanks NutkinChan! The community is so grateful to have you!
 • 2 new female skins, and a new skin material param to bleed out the diffuse texture so you can get whiter skin types (many asked for this!)
 • Tweaked female groin colliders. Things should um...go in and stay in a bit better and not shoot through the leg anymore - eek!
 • Several bug fixes

Short on time, so please see Trello for full list! https://trello.com/b/LDlEpfvk/virt-a-mate-public-plans

Thank you!! Have a great family night!! I've already slammed a 6 pack haha.. 2 more please.

Anonymous

Kewl...downloading now, Can't wait to check it out!

Anonymous

only been with you since 1.6, but the experience thus far has been amazing. Excited to try this out

eclypse

Been there since like the beginning and the man is awesome! No prob slapping $8 a month for a guy that actually works on a project at this rate unlike others! And I have not bothered making scenes till like 2 weeks ago! haha Love this thing! Only thing I do in VR and I dropped $100 in VR games a month ago and have not touched them once! haha.. Have not played any other VR crap since getting on the VAM!

Anonymous

I agree! I've dropped so much cash on a VR rig and I think I've more hours on on this then any other VR game...except maybe Skyrim Vr. ;)

Clayfacer

This is the oasis. At least the start

excellent

Wow worth the wait the performance improvements are very noticeable it feels like a new game. Cool clubs scenes love the music choices. That HD skin on person 4 is sweet. Cant wait to dig in more.

Great Update.

Yessss! Been waiting for more props/skins! Btw.: any chance of outdoor environments with realistic lighting, ever? Doesn't have to be too fancy - just some kind of space with the sun in the sky would be nice.

Anonymous

Great thank you! Is it normal that scenes load like 5x longer now?

Anonymous

Oh and there is an issue with reflective glass does not reflect anymore

Anonymous

man, that load time is awesome! Everything seems more polished, thanks meshed! It's been a minute since I've played this but I can't seem to grip with a possessed characters hand. Was that removed or is there an option to turn it back on?

The new scene in 1.7 is your best yet- its hard to believe you created that in the mad dash up to release as the motions are just fantastic and very realistic! Also love the new skins. And the performance improvements are indeed major- I had gotten used to the 40-60fps I was getting on my 1060 laptop, so much so that when this one launched and it was running much higher, I was actually startled by the smoothness! Thanks MeshedVR- you've done it again :)

I've tried all the rest and this is the best. The most control and immersion of any simulator. Truly this is what VR is for.

Tim Jones

Grip is broken since v1.62 when individual finger manipulation was introduced. It's a known bug and entered under bug list.

Anonymous

Amazing update, thanks for all of your hard work! The delays are always worth it!

meshedvr

Thank you! If you look into the scenes you will see I only motion animated 1 or 2 nodes and left the rest to RhythmForce and physics!

VirtaArtieMitchell

Great work. You are a prime example of what Patreon can accomplish.

Love all the new stuff, but it is still laggy for me and I can turn off my antivirus and it will work prefect for about 5 minutes and then start lagging again until I turn antivirus on and its just a vicious cycle. I have a gtx 1070 and this is the only program that I've ever had a problem with.

Tim Jones

What's your CPU? This program is CPU intensive as well. I have a i7 8700k with 1080Ti and there are scenes that still cannot take highest settings.

Awesome work and huge performance gains for me. Well done!

Anonymous

Good stuff! One question though. Does 1.6 and 1.7 no longer support ogg sound files? JustLookinForNothin's great RythmForce Tutorials no longer work for me in those versions.

Feature-packed update, as usual. Good work. But... I'm really yearning for more content now. Skins, clothes, hair, make-up. For all the cool animations, scenery and objects etc., it gets a bit samey looking at the similar models the whole time. I know there are countless morphs, but no matter what you do with the the current options, you can still tell they are just limited variations on the same themes. Not a criticism or complaint - just more of a request. I love your work but I find myself using VAM less and less, and when I analyse why, it's definitely because of the lack of regular new content. I eagerly await each new release, and the first thing I do is check out the new options for the looks, only to be a bit disappointed usually. I sometimes don't then even pick it up again until the next release. I also think AI movement and interaction is the way to go. Even if it was a little unconvincing to begin with, I think as long as it was random and varied enough, it would add a lot more replayability value. It takes ages to create an animation, and most people don't have that sort of time. The included and community-created scenes very are good/impressive, but they get repetitive quite quickly, so lose their appeal. Considering the amount of time needed to create them, their novelty wears off all too fast. This leads the the question: is it worth the time and effort? Just my two cents.

meshedvr

I hear your complaints and as probably the user who has logged the most hours in VaM, I agree with your points. To address these things I'm looking to move to Genesis 3/8 models soon, and I also have several items on my Trello board regarding AI and auto-systems like expressions and movement. If you haven't checked it out, take a look at what is planned here: https://trello.com/b/LDlEpfvk/virt-a-mate-public-plans

I think the hair, pubic hair lack of options, clothing, and makeup options are the most limiting factors now that there are a bunch of skins to pick from. Those all seem easy to solve for. I imagine you could import a new hair style or two each month, some new clothes, etc and keep everyone happy while you are working on the long pole projects like the gen3/8 engine. I know I’d be thrilled with some more long hair options, and some more normal day to day clothing. If you also gave pubic hair and makeup editors, I’d be speechless!!

Is the addition of a second female supposed to basically double the performance hit, or does it increase the games demand by much more? I ask because with just 1 female model my cpu and gpu monitors in the steamVR settings are chugging along fine at about 30%. But when I enable a second female the game is ultra choppy and the steamVR monitors show my graphs spiking to max like 3 times a second. Strangely changing the settings from medium and ultra has virtually no difference, its the same amount of super choppiness. Low isn't choppy though. Is there a remedy to this that you can think of?

meshedvr

VaM is very intensive with physics, which runs on the CPU. The physics is highly threaded but still has a main thread bottleneck. When you add 2nd person, it is pushing you over the edge of not being able to run a steady 90fps (or possibly even 45fps). The only real remedy is to turn off soft-body physics in the prefs menu or get a faster CPU (or overclock it).

meshedvr

I will be adding more content, but I actually want to prioritize user multiplying features, like custom makeup and hair overlays. This allow community to create additional content that I simply can't cover.

eclypse

What CPU and graphics card are you using? I've got a 8700k 6 core cpu running at 5 2ghz and a 1080ti.

Anonymous

I recently upgraded, just for VAM ....no kidding, but... i7 8700k @ 4.8GHz / 32GB RAM / 1070

Anonymous

strange where are the mouth option, open etc?

eclypse

There under head control or in the morph area at the bottom.

Hi I have a few more performance questions. 1. I can't seem to have interleaved (45fps cap) active in VaM. I set it to interleaved in steamVR settings (with normal and forced reprojection both off) and the ingame VaM fps counter stays around 60-90 fps and causes terrible stutter in demanding scenes. 2. Disabling soft body physics doesn't seem to do anything. I've disabled it in the performance options, and in the chest and glute physics panels. Everything still jiggles around like normal and when I have 2 women in a scene the performance is exactly the same with the soft body physics on or off, which is poor. Thanks :)
