Welcome to the FurHub Patreon!

If you're here, there's a good chance you're already familiar with FurHub, one of VRChat's most popular furry community worlds, designed both to help VRChat users find furry avatars and meet other furs.

You may have noticed that the FurHub shown in the cover photo for our Patreon looks a bit... different. It's a very early sneak peek at  what we're working on - more on that in a moment.

When I launched FurHub in early 2020, I never expected the world to gain the success and recognition it did. I've been thrilled to see how popular the world has grown, but with any growth comes growing pains - and that's why I (and the small team that helps develop and maintain FurHub) have turned to Patreon.

When the world was originally built, it was built from Unity Store assets that were not originally designed for VRChat, and are not particularly well optimized. In addition, the world was build using VRChat's SDK2, before SDK3 and Udon were released. That means that not only is FurHub less performant than it could be - but it also lacks many of the moderation tools that Udon makes possible.

To transition the world to SDK3, we have to rebuild the project from scratch - and I'm using this as an opportunity to reimagine FurHub.

In building FurHub 3.0, I'm working not just with the original team (including Kreic and Garret2727, who were both instrumental in building the original FurHub and the current "FurHub 2.0" iteration) but also Hiyu - an experienced world builder who was involved in the development of Virtualfurence and the Furality Luma worlds.

Hiyu has taken charge of creating a whole new look for FurHub from scratch, with a heavy focus on optimization, creating comfortable places to socialize, and adding tools that will allow us to better moderate the world.

I believe this update will bring new life to FurHub, help reduce trolling, and improve the community - but between the cost of development of "FurHub 3.0" and time put into weekly updates to the avatar booths, portals and art in the world, I felt it was time to bring FurHub to Patreon, as many other VRChat worlds have done.

So, I (and the rest of the FurHub team) are asking for your support - which can range from as little as a dollar per month simply to support creation of the world, to $10+ per month to showcase your avatar creations (and direct people to Gumroad or other sites where they can purchase your work).

Beginning this weekend, you'll need to be a patron to get new art, avatars, or portals featured in FurHub -- but rest assured, while we certainly encourage any content creators whose work is already in the world to support us - we're not removing any avatars or portals already in FurHub 2.0. 

That said, if you have an avatar booth, portal or artwork currently featured in FurHub and want it to remain in the new, "FurHub 3.0" update which we expect to launch in the next few months - you will need to join our Patreon, as only Patrons' creations will be featured in FurHub 3.0.
