So it finally happened... (Patreon)

My comics have been leaked/pirated. I don't know if I made someone here unhappy, maybe with the archive, maybe with the comics that are not available any more after some months, or if this is something that simply had to happen with time. Maybe I'm now popular enough!

I don't know how this will influence my future works. Will people leave and hunt for free scraps on the darker side of the internet? Will I be able to still attract new members? Or might it work out as publicity and make more people come? I don't know.

Anyway,  I'm not yet an established artist and whether I will continue my works,  intensify/reduce it, or quit, heavily depends on moral and monetary support.

So, with that said, please don't leave me and don't pirate my stuff :)

Now I get back to work.

Ugh sorry to read this happened to you. Your comics are great so sadly it was only a matter of time as the ass clowns can't help themselves. You can get then taken down with a copyright claim but obviously that takes up more of your time. I have no plans on leaving and I'm sure many, many others will not as well. Keep your head high and I look forward to supporting your future works! 🙂

Well, to be honest, I do not agree with the method of removing patron stuff after a while and if I get the chance to get the missed stuff in pirate site, I would probably download it. Although that does not mean I would stop supporting you.

I agree with the "removal from patreon" sucks. I would love to have the comics stay up for eternity so that everyone who was a member of that comic's release month can access it anytime. But I have to admit I do feel cheap if somebody can simply "come late to the party" and access the works of the last 8 months for the fee of a single month. I think my monthly membership fees are a fair price for the monthly content I offer... though I guess fair is always viewpoint dependant :). I also would love an option to buy access to past months or soemthing like that. Anyway, sadly there is no option on Patreon to configure posts like that, and any member new or old has access to everything (of that Tier). :C So, that's the reason why I remove the content... :C

I do agree you have a point in there. But this also happens in shorter periods of time. For example, I became a 10 USD patron in December and in this month, in order to get the comics you released in this period of time (although I lost some).

Hi, sadly thats how it works, but most of my support fees to other artist on patreon i know from these sites, yours as well. Theres a lot of trashy shit on these sites and sometimes you find something special. With the leaks you get more public and you will surely get more supporters, because your work is great. I hope you see the benefit, because the leaks will continue and you will show us many new stories in the future.

Uh... That should not be the case. If you downloaded everything in december back then and everything you have access to now, then you should not have missed anything. But by all means, if you've paid for a comic, lost it and find it somewhere for download please do so without any bad concious. I've never intended for anybody to pay twice for the same content.

So I'm not as familiar with this platform as I am with others, but couldn't you email and archive files once a month. This is the way my wife rewards subscribers on Onlyfans. and it seems to be a useful tool. That said, I've been subscribed to Mind Control Comics for years and they definitely had a bit of a shaky start and continue to have massive pirating issues, but their entire bank of content is still available to new subscribers. It also allowed me to take a break some months when either they weren't updating as often in the beginning or when I used to be low on funds. The bank was part of the appeal. I'm currently in your "Connoisseur" tier, but I would certainly pay a bit more to have unending access to your work.

Yes, MCC does offer great stuff and it's awesome what you get especially when you join up for the first time or after a longer period. Though you either have to pay much more for a single month or sign up for more months. (Not saying this is bad! It's totally understandable. It's just something I can not configure here on Patreon :C). [Also there is one monthly issue that is only available for the months you signed up, but I think you can buy it afterwards extra, if I'm not mistaken]. Now back to the problem at hand ;) --> I kinda do feel good about my monthly content to Tier-price ratio and I don't know if people were too happy if they had to pay I don't know twice that much for the feature that they get access to all the previous content. So currently I've created the "Time Treveller" Tier which basically is the bank around here. It contains all my stories. It's currently priced at 70E, but that includes the current months Con Tier as well. So basically the bank is 60E. But maybe I'm too protective of my content... I guess MCC is a good comparison. I think page wise it's about the same amount of monthly content. So maybe I should reduce that from 70 to 40. I guess that would be about comparable taking into account that my monthly Con-Tier fees are cheaper. I'm gonna think about this. Also gonna PM you, maybe you have some more input. Also, if anybody else wants to join in on this please feel free to comment how you would envision this to work. (Though I am limited with how Patreon can be confgured. Also giving the access to the full bank for Con-Tier at the current Tier price might be super nice for you guys, but for me that would feel cheap and I'd not want to do that).

Thats just how it goes. from what i have seen for the most part your people are loyal and the fact you asked not to usually means those cats will wait 1-3 months. But people pirate everything these days. Treat those who sub well and keep making fun and interesting content and you'll get less well I want to see what this is about subs and more this guy makes our shit, need to support them so they don't stop. but I mean look at movies in theaters, even those aren't immune and its way harder to do! Best advice I could give is look at it this way, you've made it to known status. People like your shit so much they stole it to share with others. Not going to lie and say that's not how I found this, though I think it was you uploading the teaser vids to places lol. But I would say look at it as marketing and the slight hit in subs or sales is just the cost of the advertising as I would suspect people will start checking out more of your new stuff and chapters. Just let your sweet work and story lines do the heavy lifting and don't let it stifle your creativity or mojo. Then they win and we all lose.

Way to look at it is that if your stuff is getting pirated it means that those doing so think it is good stuff... so in a way a sideways compliment....
