Heya. I'm back. So I'm nearing completion on the next small patch - it should be ready in 5 days. This time will be a bit different as I'm going to release this version publicly as well(it's been more than a month since the early access of the big patch). The reason for releasing it is - 1. There aren't any major changes to story-related content here so this is as good as the earlier version in that regard and is ripe for public release. 2. I've also been notified about the game leaking in some sites. Which means the likelihood of people getting that version without my accompanying explanation on why things are still WIP is high and isn't really helpful for the game. Anyway, I don't want to dampen the mood here so here it goes:

As mentioned, this will have very little stuff related to the story, not zero but little - there are 2 side quests included that's extensive and have been teased in some parts of the current patch. Majority of this patch will be on the auxiliary things - the different systems in place, like the Threads screen which will finally have some content in it, completion of the inventory, and other stuff.

A lot of what's in here will be systems I've set up for use in the future. The Traits screen - last pic above will be for activating traits, some of which were unlocked when you looked into the mirror and answered some questions. (Unlocked but not activated, you need to allocate points to activate them.) I'll discuss what Traits do in a different post when it's fully in action in Part2, because it's an entire topic on it's own that will actually dictate whether you'll play the game with carefully chosen dialogue VS fighting through(yes battling), whether you'll pursue romantic interests and be a force for good VS going to the dark side and pursuing sexual exploits, etc. A lot of the systems I've built here will give some ways of choosing how you want to go about this game.

Such as: in the first pic- bottom left. The map marker icon which toggles hint visibility. (That long paragraph near it is a tooltip that shows up when you hover over it, I've been working on adding a lot of tooltips to different things.) When turned on, things on the map that advance the main storyline will be highlighted. Which means if you want a completely streamlined playthrough -exactly like what's been released here so far(no side quests, no other stuff), then you turn this on and just click away..This will result in a playthrough that's mostly canon and closer to a visual novel. But...the juicier stuff involves actually doing the rest of the content - for example actually choosing what to do with your spare time, who you want to romance, etc,...
Another system in place - day/night cycle and countdown to the next checkpoint in the story - In the screenshots - it tells you 6 days before appointment with Dr. Kent(which I think is inaccurate) - this is before you get an earlier visit with him after that incident with your parole officer. The sun/moon icon will tell you how much time you have left for sidequests (you have 2 actions per day before going to bed, and if you meet certain conditions will have another action while dreaming.). If you want to play streamlined, you can go directly on the map where the the checkpoint is marked, and skip the remaining days left in the countdown. The choice is yours.

NPCs will spawn at specific days on specific locations. Right-Clicking on NPCs on the map - will now bring up a small menu with a list of actions(seen on 2nd and 3rd pic). If you've unlocked the Generous trait in the Trait screen, a "Gift" option will be included in the list of actions which allows giving gifts to them. This MIGHT help your relationship with them.

Tips - 1st pic at the left side with the light bulb icon - will be some tips. This will contain all kinds of tips from story-related to introductory stuff when the chapter opens. You can click on the lightbulb icon to minimize this.

NOTE: You need to restart your playthrough of Chapter2 here. Load to a save from Chapter 1. I've changed a lot of stuff, turned a lot of things to classes that will, hopefully, be more robust in terms of compatibility with older saves. If you still get an error here, you might have to play through the entire thing again. Sorry if this is the case, I'm working on catching all the little things I've done in the past that make it hard to make things compatible with newer versions.

Other than that, I've been working on making bonus content again after missing a lot of those for a while. It should also come out in a few days.
