Patreon Pin Up 9/26/22 (Patreon)

I've been thinking it would be fun to start getting more creative with the fan art pin ups and merch ideas if I can manage it. You know, try putting my own spin when I draw an especially popular character that's been drawn a million times already. And in this case, "Goth Aerith Gainsborough" from Final Fantasy 7 was the first idea that came to mind. 

I had fun with the concept, but I ran into some snags in my efforts here. I knew I wanted her to be in Cloud's dingy motel room from the remake, but once I'd matched the colors from the room and put that bright light behind her, I knew the shadows on her had to be heavy. I love how the light and shadow turned out, personally. It just...uh...kind of totally drowned out some details I was attached to, such as her Tonberry stockings and Bomb-patterned ribbon. With those shadows cranked up you need a magnifying lens to see them now. It's cool. It's not like I painstakingly drew those and they took a long time or anything. I'm not crying. You're crying!
