EDIT:  It's not uncommon for me to wake up on Friday morning and make some adjustments to the page I posted the night before. But the tweaks I made to the last two panels this morning were big enough that I thought it was worth posting both versions for comparison's sake.

I don't mean to presume about what other writers go through, but I imagine presenting an ongoing story and its prequel at the same time is an uncommon occurrence. It brings its own unique challenges, that much I can say.

Case in point, this chapter marks the first real instance of the visual novel and the main comic coming together. I held off on introducing game-specific characters like Chloe, Raina, and Isaac here for as long as I did because I didn't want what would be big plot developments in the game spoiled by some passing line of dialog in the comic. But I think the game is finally far enough along that I can start introducing some elements from it here, as by the time I'd get to anything spoiler-ish in the main comic, the game will be long since completed. (I hope.)

So am I contradicting those very words by putting a spoiler for the game in the fourth panel there? That's not the intent, at least. I consider this just taking advantage of the unique storytelling situation I find myself in. If you're following along with the game so far, this is where you find out that Isaac and Switch part ways at the end of their adventure. And if not, I'll be sure to bring you up to speed with the history between these two and why Parker is acting so weird here in the coming pages.

Does it work? That's where you come in! I'd love to hear any feedback you have on the writing choice I made. As for the game itself, another update is on the way soon. We've been at long last adding music to it and it's taken longer than expected. I'll keep you posted!

it might seem weird to new viewers, other wise it's fine and incognito parker is always adorable.

Malcolm Tent

Nice isaac is awesome, and I love Chloe cant wait to see her.

Deano

I imagine that a character like Isaac, designed to be a generic protagonist, being inserted into a story where he is presumably no longer the protagonist is an uncommon occurrence as well. Interested to see where it goes! btw, is there going to be a pdf of the last chapter soon?

Phil Token

I can’t wait to see where Isaac story goes on from here especially since he was one big player in the game

The Funny Hatter

Ihr Deutsch ist schlecht... Sehr schlecht....

Jeremy Joanes

Parker!!! Yay my waifu lol

Will M

Well shit. I need to keep trying to get your game working now.

Reinbach

For what it's worth I promise to explain this scene clearly on the next page, and honestly the idea of Isaac and Switch parting ways is really not a spoiler for the game, as it's implied early on there.

Bob Fink

Kind of spoilerish but not too bad, you offset it well with the always sexy Parker and her nice ass and cleavage. :D

Squid Hills

Anyone who read Switch knows she doesn't stick around after she fixes her "patient", so hearing she doesn't hang around Isaac reveals exactly nothing we pro-tier fans didn't already know. And filthy casuals just read the webcomic and wouldn't understand this is a spoiler for a videogame, anyway. All kidding aside, though I don't think this is much of a spoiler. Switch helps people get through their bullshit and moves on like the guy from Quantum Leap but with amazing tits. It's not a surprise she will move on from Isaac when he's fixed; all you're spoilering is that the game has a "good" ending.

Not super spoiler, we all figured they would part ways by the end. I guess as long as we don't find out who was possessed by the demon there's no harm in conflicting timelines. Im just eager to see why incognito Parker is tracking down Issac. I take it this means that we went with the bukkake in official Canon?

Phil Token

Writing wise I think it’s a good idea to bring Isaac in here I’m a fan of his especially since playing the game and we have seen his story I think it’s good to see how he’s doing post game tho as long as major spoilers aren’t in this appearance its fine and I don’t consider the switch spoiler really too big at all since the ending of switch. Tho I think it would be tough to bring in Raina if she still has story left I would maybe wait on her appearance and I hate to say it since she works for Sylvia and I can’t wait to see Sylvia in the comics

KaijuWhite

I mean, we could all expect that Switch would leave at the end of the game. But I'm glad that Parker got her special night.

I'm really into this. I have a soft spot for all of the game characters, so I'm excited for them to be canonized more in the comic. I think there's also an aspect of playing branching visual novels that has gotten me to enjoy stories about these characters regardless of spoilers, if that makes sense. Like, there are things that could happen or could have happened, but any particular play through of the content of the game is going to be idiosyncratic, it would be a bummer to have the target spoiled, but in a certain way that information may eventually be spoiled anyway by process of elimination, the more "finished" the game becomes. I think I'll keep enjoying the game and the comic if that happens regardless. I wonder whether you're imagining a way to have "endings" where any of a number of characters were the target, and there's a random or decision based element that determines who it will be each time you play the finished game. Obviously you don't have to weigh in on that idea, but I'm definitely curious about how to keep a degree of mystery in a story game that your primary fan base have all played a lot of already by the time you finish it.

Its's weird to know so much about Isaac and to only see him for the first time in the comic.

Mysteriiiiiiiiious.

Strange thing to be nitpicky about maybe, but if you'll allow me, the bottom left panel does not work spatially I feel. With the table, the seats, how Parker rests her leg on the seat, and how Isaac's jacket is in between the table and wall. Stuff just doesn't line up.

nick

women always seem just a bit more relatable when they have weird tendencies. a perfect persona always seems more antagonistic than friendly, as if there is something behind the smile. thankfully, parker is a weirdo. weirdos are hot.

Is ketchup on hot wings good?

eF..cz

Is Parker going for another bukkake at Kal's auto again? :)

Reinbach

Hopefully just the top half of the page will be it for weirdness. The rest of the scene will be pretty easy to follow I think.

Reinbach

Both Raina and Sylvia will eventually make their way into the comic, but yeah I'm waiting on them a bit longer to let the game play out more for sure.

Reinbach

One thing I can say is that the whole demon thing won't be referenced in the comic until the game is long since finished.

Reinbach

Hey I'm always open to that kind of feedback! Upon giving it a second look I agree, I'll have a revision uploaded shortly.

Reinbach

No idea. I just wanted to give Isaac a weird excuse to talk to himself. XD

Love Parker. Into every life, a little Parker must fall...on her back, in front of you with legs spread akimbo.

Alex Barton

I mean the Isaac/Parker storyline is bound to be interesting, but the real attraction is standing behind the counter in panel 1: the bosom-bounteous, utterly gorgeous Courtney...

Vince

Why does Switch leaving Isaac make me sadder than her leaving Casey?

NomadicWanderer

If we can judge by what happened in the game... Parker is likely about to get QUITE messy 🙂. Side note, I'd love to see some more Kal's Garage Wrecked Pinups down the line!

Deus

Interesting! I had not expected much crossover between the comic and the game actually. I had assumed the game would be contained as its own side-story and that the game characters that hadn't shown up in the comic would stay only in the game.

Reinbach

Probably because they had a thousand times more interaction with each other presented to readers than Casey and Switch did, and the game isn't even done yet! That is the big plus about visual novels, way more room for storytelling.

Reinbach

Never, that kind of thing drives me nuts. If you're going to have a shared universe across two mediums I think you should commit to it! :)
