It's unfortunate that this pile of mediocrity completely missed the point and the twist of the original novel. All in all a very disappointing movie.

Yes, this canon ending is closer to the book, a little bit and works better. The cinematic one was a dry fart. And definitely, this movie was a big ego trip for Will Smith and him trying to be in more serious roles. But so full of silly, dumb ideas, like "a good car with a cop" and the lone hero who is the solution to all conceit.
