Really enjoyed watching this again! Thank you! The whole “They don’t make movies like that anymore” is kind of dismissive to me. Good storytelling is universal and transcends time. A movie or series that effectively tells its story will be applauded, whether released 50 years ago or last week.

I think Red Letter Media quite succinctly tackles part of the issue with modern movies, and why studios don't like to take chances on smaller budget movies that wouldn't have a chance at making a billion dollars or more. Its definitely a thing. At least for me, when I think of that sentiment "They don't make movies like that anymore", for me it usually revolves around that idea. Hollywood is just too obsessed with chasing those billion+ dollar returns that they just don't even care to greenlight any sort of movie that isn't going to have the potential to be a massive blockbuster. It just rarely happens anymore.

It was fun to watch you guys react to this gem! Nice catch on Rob Lowe having to look down to hide his laughter/smile from the camera. You'll notice with a lot of comedic actors or actors with backgrounds in stand up, that some of their improv scenes worked or looked better than what was scripted and those were kept in the movie despite any noticeable breaks in character from other actors. I love it!
