Dominius' father, Dioclenos, always has his favorite humans (toys) serving him by serving them in his huge body.

When he gets tired of it or hungry, he swallows some of them whole to fill his stomach.

The humans are willing to pledge allegiance to the king and serve him willingly, even though they see their friends being devoured before their eyes and fear that it may be their turn next.
