It's time for another patch with more features and fixes!

FEATURES & CHANGES:

- A radial hotbar now appears when holding one of the two item switch directions. Move your hand towards your desired slot to quickly select the tool or item you need.
- A new setting has been added to choose between head based or controller based movement. This will set the reference for the "forward" direction.
- The crafting menu has been moved to the right side of the inventory for easier access. This means that the research table menu and all storage menus have been moved to the left side.
- The block cost UI when using the hammer now appears on the right hand instead of the left.
- The distortion effect when underwater has been removed.
- The configuration file containing the chosen runtime is now located in the game directory.

BUG FIXES:

- Text fields now properly register keyboard inputs.
- The firework projectile now properly follows your hand direction instead of your gaze.

KNOWN ISSUES:

- Turns out that the dialog box when first setting up the mod doesn't actually matter at all. Apart from the runtime choice, your choices aren't saved. This is an issue with the ExtraSettingsAPI mod which should be resolved in a future update.
- The black fade screen when sleeping doesn't actually cover your eyes, but is instead a black box fading in and out on your left hand.
- It is currently not possible to shift click, split item stacks or take one item at a time on the inventory menu.

It has also come to my attention that some of you are having trouble with the throwing mechanic. While I don't know how to improve the current system at the moment, the least I can do is to write a short tutorial on how to properly throw the hook.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR THROW TECHNIQUE:

1. Hold the trigger
2. Arc your arm behind you (underhand swing recommended)
3. Swing forward
4. Let go during the swing and follow through. Don't stop your motion as you let go.
5. Don't flick your wrist or it will go in weird directions. The hook will be thrown at the exact force and direction of your motion as you let go.

Hope this helps!

HOW TO UPDATE:

1. Download the mod at the bottom of this post.
2. Replace the mod located in the mods folder.
3. Open the game once for the new patch to apply and close it.
4. Open the game again to play in VR.

HOW TO INSTALL FOR THE FIRST TIME:

1. Disable game theatre in the game's properties. Right click Raft in your Steam library and click "Properties...". In the "General" tab, uncheck "Use Game Theatre while SteamVR is active".

2. Download and install the Raft Mod Loader: https://www.raftmodding.com/download

3. Select your Raft installation directory in the mod loader settings.

4. Press "Play" in the mod loader to make sure it's working correctly. You should see the mod menu appear when reaching the main menu. If you're having trouble with the mod loader, you can ask for help in the Raft Modding Discord server: https://www.raftmodding.com/discord

5. Install the Extra Settings API mod: https://www.raftmodding.com/mods/extra-settings-api
Press ''Install Mod'' to let the mod loader automatically install it for you. If that doesn't work, press ''Download this mod'' instead and drag the mod file into your mods folder which you can open using the mod loader.

6. Download the RaftVR mod located at the bottom of this post and drag it into your mods folder.

7. Press "Play" in the mod loader to open the game modded.

8. In the mod menu, load ExtraSettingsAPI by clicking the plug button. The status should change to "Running...".

9. Make ExtraSettingsAPI load on startup like so:

10. Close the mod menu. You should see a dialog for RaftVR open.

11. Choose the options that you prefer in the dialog box, then close the game when you're done.

12. Put on your headset and open the Oculus App or SteamVR depending on the runtime you chose.

13. Press "Play" in the mod loader. Once you reach the main menu, the game should appear in VR shortly after.

14. You should see a prompt telling you to do a T-pose and press both triggers. Just move to the center of your playspace and face your desired forward direction. Lift both your arms in a T-pose and press both triggers at the same time.

At this point, you're ready to go!

Thank you again for your support on this project and let me know if you encounter any issues or have any feedback!

Just a heads up. When a player joins a world, the guest's crafting menu is shifted too far left and not usable, after this patch. We switched worlds to verify and it was the same for the guest in both worlds.
