(episode 4 of 4)

Today I'm joined by Min (@mintherose) to discuss several aspects of Israel Keyes that have developed after the publication of the two books, and things I did not get into in the first three episodes. In particular, we look at the possibility of Keyes being a huge fucking loser, separate from the whole serial killing thing. Along the way we go into underreported sex worker and Native American victims, the coverup, and new developments in the case.

This shit is a fucking audio revelation my man. Keep it up. Sinnerman has never been paired to such a nihilistic theme so perfectly.

I was trying to figure out why I was left with such an unattractive feeling at the end of this series with Min and I realized it was the time you two spent talking about how “dumb” and “trailer trash” Keyes was. Maybe it’s just me, but out of all the terrible things this man has done, it seems a little trite to criticize things he had no control over like his intellect. Not to mention there’s something very odd about you guys going on and on about what a “loser” he was while you both spent hours researching him. It’s like masturbating to something then questioning how anyone could get off to it. Don’t forget, someone could easily turn this kind of callow insight around, ie - you saying “like” every other word might come off as quite uneducated to some… Or getting titles and names wrong, like David Ray Parker instead of David Parker Ray. A small detail sure, but it’s like we say in Russia, Без труда́ не вы́тащишь и ры́бку из пруда́. Which translation is something like, “Without the effort, you can’t even pull a fish out of a pond.” Actually, it sounds better in Russian. Ultimately Jimmy, I’m attracted to your show because of your ability to take something artless and turn into art. And when you do.. well that’s a turn on, intellectually. But when you're just being mean with no wisdom or wit, it feels unfulfilling and limp… and if I wanted my brain and panties dried up I’d watch The View.

Something I kept coming back to when the Currier case was discussed is that, in the months before their abduction and murder, Lorraine Currier told several people she felt like she was being stalked.

That's so terrifying. I'm willing to trust her intuition and believe that she was correct in that feeling.
