Part of the in-story controversy about Bo-Katan as a leader for Mandalore was that she didn't win the Darksaber through combat but was given it by Sabine. Some evidently cited that as a reason why the Empire was able to defeat and destroy their world later and that was the reason she refused to take the Darksaber when Din offered it to her in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Glad you enjoyed these episodes. I always liked them too and they seem to be ever pivotal to the Filoni stories in Star Wars.
