They came up with something that on paper would be a really cool way to take down Dick Roman, but then didn’t think through the actual mechanics at all. Dean gives this big smug explanation of how he clearly would have seen the first kill attempt coming…but he didn’t! He got stabbed right in the neck and would have been killed if the knife was real. So it ends up looking like they took a huge pointless risk just because they wanted to gloat a little about finally outsmarting him. Most of this finale is really cool, but that one bit has always bugged the crap out of me.

Ah, I just love that you don´t skip the "on the road so far"-intros in the finale... I misremembered so much in season 7... I thought that the "Ghost Bobby Death"-part would happen in Episode 22... Well, dick is dead (honestly, I thoink that the whole season is based on a Dick-joke... they had to kill the "head" of the Leviathans, that being Dick... xD)... Well, Bobby is gone now - for the second time! ^^ And I hope you´ll enjoy Season 8... I wonder if you pick up on something I picked up during season 7, remembering something from Season 8... can´t wait to talk a bit more openly about that during Season 8! ^^ Oh, and I think the Leviathans could’ve been a more interesting villain (they are the most dangerous and clever so far, in my opinion), if they were a bit more fleshed out.. They are a bit plain.

The Leviathans were pretty clearly a quick backup story when they realized there was no way in hell (so to speak) they could do an epic war between Heaven and Hell like the end of Season 6 had indicated, and they never quite figured out how to make them interesting enough to deserve that prominence.

Honestly, if that´s the case I would buy a book of the alternative S7 plot! ^^ I guess the whole hallucination of Lucifer thing would be the same, Bobbys death too (more or less), Kevins introduction too...But Castiel wouldn´t have to disappear for almost the entire season...

Yeah, there was a shared skepticism about Crowley turning turncoat on Sam and Dean. I laughed way too much at the contract negotiations as it is so realistic that two villains who are known for bending rules and/or exploiting loopholes, would hash things out and make sure contracts are airtight when coming to arrangements with each other. I also got a laugh when you mentioned how you took the course in contract negotiations, and you found it to be tedious. Of course, Crowley still twists it to his advantage. Sure, per the agreement, he would lose Canada, but what’s Canada compared to the rest of the world. Most satisfying see Dick get killed. I agree with you that though fundamentally there was nothing strictly speaking wrong with the Leviathans, they are somewhat lacking in panache and presentation. That and Dick killed Bobby, an act which drains all likeability from a character. I like your thoughts on Castiel. I also kind of figured you’d be engaged in Castiel’s momentary talk on testing cosmetics on animals' discussion. It's as you say, if things go south, and Sam and Dead get hurt or worse, the guilt from that would be too much for him. Quite the predicament of the ending. Which brings us to Bobby. Yes, kudos to the writers for sticking to their guns about spirits and their vengeful nature. The strength of which even Bobby, as iconic as he is, is unable to resist. Like you say, it would have been nicer had it not happened to the best character of the show. The scene where Bobby attacked Sam, you handled that much, MUCH better than I did. I stopped fucking breathing that whole scene. And, well, I don’t know, but I got a pretty good goddamn idea my heart stopped for the duration of the scene as well. My soul remained in my body, so I'm taking that victory. Your reaction to the final scene of Bobby, likewise, you handled that better than I did. I sobbed, hard. I see your reaction and I just want to give you a hug. There is something to be said that it was Bobby’s choice; that he recognized the danger and made the decision that he did. And he’s able to say a final goodbye to his boys. And for Sam and Dean, they get their goodbye with their dad. Sure, neither of them says anything in the end, frankly maybe they can’t think of anything meaningful and/or words would not be enough. But then again, they got the extra time, and this time the farewell is on their terms, and perhaps that’s enough. I loved this reaction, Jess, thank you so much.
